The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.
No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
She also threw in the silvered sunshade for over it.
Since I don't have shelving for it, I plan on putting my pair of 2' wide and one 4' wide '4 tier greenhouses' inside it.
(Stock image from internet; like, but not, my 2' mini.)
I would like to put one on the door flaps on each end...but need to find where I can get them...
You’re welcome, Mr Bender
Sorry for all the typos and incorrect choice of words on #96. Too late, and too many meds kicking in. I was sawing logs 5 minutes after posting.

If someonoe could invent a plant that could taste like bacon ,... they would make a million $$$
Depending on the height of the sunflowers, consider saving them for stakes for next years trumbicino squash.
I planted about 10 potato pieces some time ago. In one pot the spoiled. The 2nd pot, they were just laying there. About a week ago, one sprouted. It is now buried under some straw.
Our greenhouse is 10’ X 10’ and my son made shelving for me. I’ll post more photos later today. The framework is carbon fiber...

My wife asked about that place last evening. I sent her the link, but not heard anything back from her on it.
Hey ..... just talking to my SIL and “whining” about my cucuzzas not germinating. I related your experience with them & how hard the brown coverings are, etc. She has a horticulture degree and a major green thumb and told me that for seeds that are hard to germinate, take nail clippers and nick the edge of the seed to help the leaves break through. I am definitely going to try that as soon as my two ‘new’ cucuzza seeds come off their long soak.
I need to talk to her more often! :-)
I have no pond. He eventually winds up in the compost, except for what sticks to the heel, and that goes to help the grass grow.
Do a search on line. That’s where I have seen them. I am on my way to town, but I’ll keep an eye out later.
I may wind up getting a 2 ft. mini, if we keep having such cold winters and springs.
The first six I planted, I took a nail file, and filed the edges of the seeds to scarify them. Those are the ones I soaked for just over 24 hours. Three of those are now up..
The second batch I just soaked for 72 hours. I have seen pics of a v shaped nick to help with germination of cucuzzas, but it warned if you went past the outer seed, it would kill them.
If after all this, if we don't get at least three "gagootz", I am going to be thoroughly grumpy about it. I have three cattle panel hoops up, and the tromboncinos on the middle panel are cooperating. I am just waiting on these cucuzzi to spring into action. BTW, when they break out of the dirt, they look creepy to me..like a tiny morel only with some kind of dirt dome on top..no green just this little rising dirt dome.
Bay can be kept in a pot/container. It will have to pruned and root pruned.
We’re going to be able to charge ‘consulting’ fees on the topic of germinating cucuzza seed by the time this is all over! :-) Thanks for the tips (scarifying .... 72 hours.....) ~Q
Here are your pix. Your garden is always pretty. But it looks like Ft. Knox. ;)

You have no idea of the number of critters hereabouts. The bird netting does the job.
I sold the Porsche 911 Carerra today to a fellow from St. Louis. I'd owned it for a couple of years and it was fun. No regrets.
