In my 2012 Kentucky Derby column for Xpressbet.com, I’ll Have Another was my selection to win. He had only one strike. I’ll Have Another got the job done and paid $32.60.
In 2013, Orb was my selection to win in my Kentucky Derby column for Xpressbet.com. He had zero strikes. Orb won and paid $12.80.
Here are my selections for 2014:
1. Dance With Fate 2. California Chrome 3. Wicked Strong 4. Medal Count
I like California Chrome to win but would not win anything betting on him with 5-2 odds; California Chrome, Danza, Wicked Strong and Intense Holiday would be my picks but heck need a long shot too

Have You cleaned the Throttle Body/Butterfly, Idle Air Control Valve ?
Tell Me what You have tried.
I spent 18 years selling parts and 12 turning wrenches for a living. Was fixing stuff at 6 YO.
Because the idle was too low I replaced tge IAC, TPS a year or so ago. Today I bought new throttle body cleaner. Will do that tomorrow. Then check the EGR and plumbing.
If that doesn’t work I pay $150 and get a waiver. It’s an original ‘91 with maybe 50k miles.
Not going to think of gasket leak which is common on them.
It is otherwise running great!
You can if you go for the exacta or tri. I hit the tri on the Oak by putting Untapable on top, then boxing 4 horses for 2nd and 3rd. Cost $24, payout was $178.
I will have at least one ticket like that with California Chrome... just in case he does get a clean race. If he does? He wins.. IMO. But, I'm not sure he will. I'm betting on some other options too.
Sounds like my moms 92 Plymouth(think it just turned 60,000)which she only uses to go to the local grocery store, and as such, barely touches the accelerator.
Had a problem with stalling out at idle, cleaned the idle air control valve, and did a thorough cleaning of the throttle body. Also noticed the pintle(?)on the idle air control valve measured about 1.250" out from the base, whereas the book showed it should be 1.000 or less. Adjusted it back to specs, not sure whether that or the cleaning did the trick but it stopped the idle/stall. Oh yeah, also put in a can of Sea Foam.

I’m covered, I think... if Chrome wins. I wheeled him on top of a big exacta and tri pool. Good chance to hit that if he wins If not? I like my chances to win some BIG money!
