You'll be pissed off too if you live to 103.
On the serious side he looks pretty good for 103 and crossing the Delaware with Gen. Washington is a much bigger deal than being the earliest born person to be photographed IMO.

Back then people had to pose for a very long time for the camera to take the picture. On top of sitting long enough to be pretty annoyed he is also missing all or most of his teeth, which causes the caved in face look.

Getting your picture “struck” back then was regarded as a solemn, serious occasion. They’d no doubt think we all look like grinning fools in our photos.

This man had seen and experienced much. At the time that this picture was taken, I'm sure he was feeling the pains of aging, and his weary eyes reflect it. I'm glad I was able to view a picture of a Revolutionary War patriot.
