This "Public Service Announcement" is being run heavily on one of our local TV stations. I think it is ridiculous. Kids at a playground wishing they were in school because of missing the school lunch(!).

No problem here........We have schools open that serve breakfast and lunch to any kid that can get there. Demographics...oh never mind.
I don’t know what I find harder to believe. They fact they want to skip summer solely for lunch, or the fact they like Mooch’s food.
I hated school. It was boring and a rehash of the same stuff year after year.
If there had been some kind of program to do half a day of school and half at some kind of paying apprenticeship or the like to learn something useful. I would have signed up for it.
Psa have turned from informational into surrogate common sense into blatant pro government propaganda and soon will turn into agitation propaganda.
It's all a scam by leftist do-gooders and assorted parasites to find jobs for themselves fooling gullible people into believing a sizable portion of the public is starving. It's all a crock.
There is a distinct reason the material has to be "re-hashed" each year...
If kids are missing school because they are hungry, then the parents should go back to school to learn how to earn a living to feed their kids....
How about, “I wish I WERE in school”?! Nice grammar.
Gibsmedat!
This speaks volumes as to a kids home life if they prefer school to summer vacation. That’s like picking prison over freedom for a normal kid.
You got it. As a teacher’s aide in a poorer (not slum by any means)area there was a percentage of kids who hated weekends, holidays and especially Christmas break and Summer break. Not only because their parents misspent their EBT allotment or sold it, but probably because of abuse. Our wonderful school nurse even got the kids winter coats and was always getting basic supplies like soap, toothbrushes and paste, pencils, etc. so they could take care of themselves. It was in Meth-state of MO.
“I wish I be in school.”
This is a sad commentary on the US education system. Even the adults composing the public service announcements haven't learned proper English.
I just don’t understand it.. I grew up poor. But my parents took care of us.. We didn’t do welfare food stamp programs.
My dad worked hard. He played ball with us. Took us fishing a lot... Helped us build snowmen. My mom made sure we had food... She grew gardens, made cupcakes for school lunches.. On and on...
