From the SilencerCo press release:
"The Salvo 12 is modular in nature the shooter can add or remove sections to balance their sound suppression, weight and length needs. At its full length of 12 inches, it brings sound down to 137 dB at the muzzle well below the 140 dB hearing-safe level set by OSHA."

Seems like just the thing for waterfowlers.
For the GT Ping List...
Silencerco is going to be at the NSSF Rimfire Challenge in Parma (Idaho) next month. Maybe they’ll have some examples of these with them.
At the top of Anton Chigurh’s shopping list.
Cool.
BUT, how can this avoid being an extreme choke being added to the barrel? I mean, EXTREME........
I thought silencers were against federal law. Wasn’t one of the charges against Randy Weaver that he was going to sell an undercover agent a silencer? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Silencers need to be removed from the NFA restricted list. Period.
I can see the tacti-cool types wetting themselves over it, but it will screw up the handling of any gun used for clays or wingshooting beyond repair.
I’ll pass on the $1400, but they’ll come down when the government no longer harasses people for buying them. Personally I think it’s a great advance. I’ll now be able to miss chukar quietly.
Me want!! lol
