I’m so sorry your beloved Rags is at the Rainbow Bridge.

Taxchick is right. What a beautiful face.

Wow. I like that poem.

The only other Rain poems I can think of is “Rain, rain, go away”; and “Rain” by the Beatles.

Yours is the best.

Freezing today. I just put the heat on.

A baby basement cat! I love black cats. I can’t believe in this day and age people don’t want them because of silly superstitions.

I’m behind on this thread, I missed the puppies!!!

Fanfan, they are beautiful. Little faces, little paws, they are just saying “Love me” to the camera.

Rusty looks like he was the runt of the littler, so he is my favorite. I have a thing for runts.

I wish my apartment allowed a puppy.

Or, words to that effect.

Story idea - or even idea for a collection of stories.

I looked up from my paper, which wasn’t going that well anyway, and saw him standing there, looking at me.

“What do you want?” I asked, but not very polietly.

“I’m here to curse you,” he said.

“Curse me?” I couldn’t help being a bit bemused. “How do you plan to curse me beyond what this paper is already doing?”

“I plan to grant your greatest wish.”

“I’m sorry, I must have heard you wrong. Did you say you plan to grant my greatest wish as a curse?” Already I had visions of Mary Jo Andersen and me snuggled on our couch in our house with our little children tucked safely into bed.

“That’s correct.”

“I’m not sure how you call that a curse, but go ahead,” I said to him. I wasn’t sure how he planned to pull this off, but I was much more interested in this conversation than the stupid paper anyway. “What’s stopping you.”

“First, is it your greatest wish to be married to Mary Jo Andersen?” he asked me.

Now I was taken aback. How did he know that? “Who are you again?” I asked him.

“That’s not important. Is that your greatest wish.”

“Well, y-yes,” I stammered. I wasn’t exactly used to having it in the open like that.

He pushed a tablet under my nose with some writing on it. “This says that marrying Mary Jo Andersen is your greatest wish. If so, please press your thumb in this box.” He pointed to a red box and I pressed my thumb into it.

“This says you understand that I have told you granting this wish is a curse. If you understand, put your thumb here. This says I have not coerced you in any way to accept this curse. This says you accept full responsibility for any consequences that come from this curse.” I dutifully pressed my thumb in each box. Something whirred and he handed me a piece of paper. “Here’s your copy.” Then he vanished, just like that.

Before I could even wonder where he’d gone I heard her voice. “There you are, Alex. I’ve been trying to find you everywhere.” Mary Jo slid into the seat next to mine, leaned against my arm, and practicallly purred like a cat. My eyes were drawn to the enormous diamond ring on the fourth finger of her left hand.

“I just got off the phone with mother,” she said. “She’s fine with the date so we can start our planning. Now you know, Mother is going to want a lot of people. Her invitation list will easily number 300.” My dreams of a small, intimate wedding looked lost.

“Also, Daddy wants you to call him. He wants to talk about hiring you into his firm as soon as you graduate. Isn’t that wonderful?”

“But, Mary Jo, I’m an architect. Your father owns a hedge fund.”

She pouted. “Why the formality. I love it when you call me ‘bunny.’”

Already my words were coming back to me. “I’m not sure how you call it a curse.”

Full I understand your point Face, fully I do. Outside the moat is chaos and I too have to vow myself to silence sometimes. Frustration comes from a fear of reshaping destiny of something that doesn't belong to me. I fear that.

Darksheare has been a tremendous help to me during my tenure. Darks, you have been a much larger help to my sanity. Music does calm the savage beast. The Poet and the Muse by Poets of the Fall has been more than a one trick pony and for your contributions to me in words and through music, I want to Thank You.

Everyone (myself included) knows this is Jim's site. Jim has been kind to me. I want never to do anything that would defile Jim's site or reshape Jim's Site's Destiny. I fear sometimes I'm at that line of crossing to where destiny is not where I should venture, because I did not receive permission from Jim.

Fearing is human. Fear is what keeps a human alive but also what keeps a human alive is an unwillingness to cross lines drawn by other humans and sometimes it is difficult, on a forum, to know where the line has been drawn. Being a human and discussing one's thoughts is a most excruciating process especially if one bares ones' soul by telling what is a truth of what one believes. I should not fear to go to that point but when misrepresentations and false accusations are leveled against an individual falsely one, being human, does have a tendency to near a point of rage.

I pray so God helps me with that rage when dealing with any false accusation leveled against me. I know am nearing the target area should I continue to travel on the path chosen with words. Words ... Aren't words fun, hurtful, sometimes deceptive, other times truthful, inspiring, frustrating, benign, misspelled and indeed able to change History.

If you made it this far, in reading this, then you deserve a metal of valor. My point is this ... I pray to learn something everyday. Sometimes learning leads to fruit of pleasant taste and sometimes the fruit is that of a lemon. To learn too much one normally winds up with a lemon. So the choice is this ... Does one learn till one has lemons or does one choose to refuse to learn, or will the fruit be of pleasant taste? Thus far, I have lemons. Does anyone want a lemon?

Now I’m second-guessing the cat idea...about cat hair on furniture...not for me but for company.

Ohwell...I shouldn’t be such a perfectionist...

If this isn’t a thing yet, it should be.

Well, that means less fur on the furniture and fewer hairballs.

I won’t allow hairballs! I’ll keep some Vaseline handy.

I also thought I would like to have him groomed if I can afford it, just to make him feel better.

Poets of the Fall, “Rogue” off of the album Jealous Gods.
Appears to be an instrumental.
