I saw him play at Milwaukee County Stadium many times in the late 1950’s. He could really stretch it out for badly thrown balls to him at 1st Base.

For some reason I thought that Frank had died years ago. I remember his 58 or 59 Topps card was one of my favorites (it was the year the cards had round/oval photos). I think Torre’s card had a blue border and I think he hit over .300 as a part-timer the previous years (stats were on the back). Shared first base with Joe Adcock.
