They don’t know what to say, so they change it to some magical force that does anything it wants, they ascribe mystical qualities to it.
Sort of like Hollywood sci-fi script writers & the magical computers:
...utility company computer 'listens' to vibrations of specific light bulb filament in a living room lamp; sends power surge to burn out electronic door lock; doesn't affect rest of house & neighborhood;
...and hackers, using a laptop & Starbucks wifi to crack ICBM launch codes & controls: 9 seconds of... "hurry!" (clickity-clickity-click) I'm in!"
