Norm speak for YOURSELF

(You do a very poor job of that, master your own point of view before you even attempt to speak for others)

And I have done far more than you for the conservative cause.

You are a bar stool braggart and loud mouth. You are useless.

You have zero accomplishments.

We need ALL members of the GOP to be as CONSERVATIVE as . And if you don't support Ted Cruz, you're NOT a Conservative.

I think a substantial number of Freepers at this point support taking off and nuking the entire District and its metro area from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Again Norm
SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!

Jim did not tell me to shut up. He only told me not to drag him into the fight.

Which means?

Jim is watching the fight because, as a good steward and leader, he is interested and curious about how this fight will impact FR

I get it.

You are not smart enough to get it.

We've got to cut out this cancer of "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" FIRST !
They're undermining everything conservatives do.
We can take out the 'RATs later.

I'd say that YOU are the one supporting the MARXISTS/FASCISTS Left, by every RINO and "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICAN" that you get others to vote for.
Because they've got YOU DUPED, and they funded everything THE ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF and his COMMUNISTS Administration and the 'RATs put forth.

But you're TOO blind to see it.
Reread (or read it for the FIRST TIME) Comment #85, because you do NOT understand POLITICS AT ALL.

“NO you are the “moron” once again. At any time, at his own choice, Harry Reid can invoke the “nuclear option” on ANY bill. The Republican Senators know this. It renders the filibuster and the cloture vote meaningless.”

At the very least, please present this “nuclear option” in it’s entirety.

The filibuster still applies to standard legislation and to SC nominations. The option has been implemented with respect to other presidential appointments and lower-court appointments.

It takes 51 votes to modify the Senate rules and could be used for other Senatorial charges, but that would require another vote for those changes. (As I understand it)

With that said, Mitch has already alluded to restoring the 60 vote threshold upon becoming majority leader (What a fighter!)

Also conservatives gave the power of the purse to R’s in ‘10, which they promptly handed over to their “Statist” brethren. The same power that could kill the nuclear option in it’s tracks (But a shutdown would cut off the tap to their cronies)

Now, I’m not as up to speed on the race that your spouting about, but I won’t ever be chastised into voting for “Statists” and sympathizers of either party. Furthermore, I will support the sacrificing of a seat if necessary by obstaining and just going down-ticket I.e. Mitch, Cochran, Boehner, etc.

I’d be satisfied with any of these staunch rock ribbed conservatives explaining why it is that they are using FR YET AGAIN as in the lead up to 08 and 12 to promote capitulating to the GOP.

I would like to know why it is that two full years before a presidential election that many threads are filled with posts already making excuses for and in fact paving the way for accepting another Romney run, a Jeb Bush run or any number of RINOS and open leftist republicans rather than using that time to foster conservative candidates. They arent even considering any. Just setting up the next RINO. This fiasco of a thread shows pushing the GOP is paramount over electing/supporting conservatives.

But I doubt either of us will get an answer. An honest one anyway. Because these people are about using this place to promote more GOPe and tearing down/shutting up calls for more, not less conservatism. Their actions are what they are.

I am I agree. Because in Saneland people don’t try convincing others that electing RINOs is good and advocating conservatives is bad. Which you are.

Because lets face it, there is never a good time with you folks to fight for a conservative. during the primaries you tell us to drop trou and back the RINO to WIN!!! and for ‘party unity now!’ because (drum roll please,) “The dem is worse!”

Then during the general you excuse abortion, homo madness, lying, back stabbing, funding Democrats and terrorists, refusal to prosecute dem criminals, amnesty, open GOP warfare on conservatives and tell us the dem who acts identically...that we oppose for acting as dems do, is “worse”. So the R is a Race card for you and you want us back on the plantation. You want us to be what blacks are to Democrats. We are to vote for your lib then STFU until needed.

Then, after being told your lib would lose, and he loses, you blame the messenger, attack people who stood up for conservatism and 2 years out from the next election begin pounding the drum that RINOs are acceptable because we have to drop trou and back the RINO to WIN!!! and for ‘party unity’ because (drum roll please,) “The dem is worse!

You people are nothing if not predictable. Evil yes, but predictable. And since you continue voting GOPe instead of conservative, no conservative will prevail.Which is what your actions ensure. And the whole circular fiasco will repeat again.

My opinion on the matter?

One tries as best one can to get the best conservative through the primary process so that one can eagerly vote for that conservative in the general election. If one’s preferred choice—the best conservative—can’t survive the primary, then one votes to do the least possible damage in the general election.

In some very small number of cases, that might mean sacrificing a Republican in Name Only (RINO) who does serious damage (more than the Democrat) to the conservative cause. For example, that might be a RINO in a leadership position that has far more power to thwart conservatives than a junior Democrat. However, I want to emphasize that these situations are very, very few and far between, and in no way should the majority ever be sacrificed to send a message to the RINOs and/or eliminate one bad apple.

No matter what, a Republican or Democrat will end up in every one of these seats. There may be some independents, but when the time comes to vote, they have to pick which team they’re on. I have to ask myself, is it better to have Democrats or Republicans running the senate?

I respect both sides of this argument, but for me, I’m going to try to limit the damage done by this president as best I can. If that means I gotta elect a RINO incumbent, I’m going to do it with no regrets. We’re past the time—the primaries—to put better conservatives in these seats. Now I’m gonna vote for the best of the two remaining options, and it sure isn’t going to be a vote for a Democrat!
