So all the GOP has to do is put another leftist RINO up because you will vote for them. They have no reason to put a conservative up. So under your scenario a conservative is never going to see elected office. that’s the only possible outcome since the GOP will slaughter them in the primaries with the cash of their donors and Dem assistance (as in cochran.

You constructed a perfect no win scenario for Conservatism and America and if people join you, there is no point in participating in politics at all. Just vote straight ticket GOP no matter what they do because ‘the dem is worse’ whether the Dem is or not or whether the Pub is a dem or not.

How does that make you or any voter following that scenario different from a democrat voter? How does America emerge from under the thumb of liberal governance if it is guaranteed perpetual election?

So you support voting for a liberal if he has an “R” label.
Okay, good to know.

” Romney in no way is as bad as Obama”

Buzzz, wrong.
He instituted homosexual marriage in Massachusetts, raised taxes, banned guns, and created romneycare, the basis for obamacare.
In other words, exactly the same as his opponent.

With enemies like Mitch McConnell, who needs friends?

You do what you think is best. I’ll do what I think is best. I only hope that very few join you. You seem to have decided the only way to win is to not play. To me, that sounds an awful lot like losing.

We’ve had this discussion many times in the past, and I’m not going to go back over it all again. Let the lurkers decide for themselves what is best: a Democrat-controlled senate or a Republican one. That’s really the only two choices at this point, because the senate is going to be filled regardless.

FReegards, Norm.

Absolutely. Let the lurkers think about why it is that the ‘GOP no matter the cost’ crew never answers any of the points made and just falls back on ‘I’m gonna do it CuZ’.

so by all means do it. But have the integrity to admit it when the problems worsen because the closeted liberals you elected were the people making them worse.

As for the rest of us, we are participating as we always have and always will. We just aren’t helping the GOP destroy what remains of America.

I just have to challenge what you’re claiming. I’m no Romney fan, and I hope we don’t nominate someone even remotely like him this time around. However, you are using faulty logic.

You present some ways that Romney is like Obama and then claim Romney is EXACTLY like Obama. I don’t see how anyone can reasonably claim that. I oppose President Obama on virtually everything, but I’m sure I could find some common ground with Romney.

Would Mitt Romney have been as bad for America as President Obama? I can’t believe some people are still unclear on that.

They both back homosexual marriage.
They both back raising taxes.
They both back amnesty.
They both back gun bans.
Romney created Romneycare which Obama and crew cribbed for Obamacare.
Show me a difference that matters.
He would have been just as bad.

Only on FR can someone provide carved in steel factual proof that your assertion and have it denied by a ‘conservative.’

I mean it sure happens a lot for some reason. I guess that long list that used to be on the front page showing a line by line comparison proving the point was all a lie.

I know.
And Romney’s record is that of a solid liberal.
He had the chance to install right leaning judges in Massachusetts, and didn’t.
Instead, he installed not just left leaning, but solidly leftist judges which summarily ruled that there was a magic “right” to homosexual marriage written somewhere in there.
That people refuse to see him for what he truly was and is, it is amazing.

I liked being told earlier in thread that if you don’t vote for the liberal “R” labeled candidate, you are supporting the liberal “D” label candidate.
And that somehow, by voting for the liberal “R” labeled candidate, this magically somehow brings in more conservatives.

With the exception of the Cochran race, which I think no ethical conservative can support, I would rather vote for a pro-life republican than an anti-life democrat.

Scott Brown, iirc, is pro-abortion, so he’s a new quandary that I’ve not looked into yet. If he does turn out to be pro-abortion, then I’ll not be supporting him either.

A politician who will kill babies is a politican who will fall for anything if the wind happens to be blowing in that direction. No regard for life means no regard for life.

The sum total wisdom of this thread reminds me of a kid I once say. We have all seen him really at one time or another. At the supermarket when mom says ‘No you can’t have the candy bar” and the kis throws himself on the floor screaming bloody murder, kicking and thrashing around like someone in a grand mal seizure.

There are a few Freepers that react violently to being faced with the facts. But if the list Jim posted for YEARS was a lie then Jim and the rest of us were liars. If course, it wasn’t a lie. The facts are all out there from multiple sources, doced and verified.

But darn...that means that they are being ...less than honest. And just like the kid on the floor having a tantrum, they think if they lie like democrats and make enough noise/attack enough conservatives, their support for liberals will magically transmogrify into ‘conservatism’ in they eyes of readers and in the halls of DC.

I think Blazing Saddles put it best. “These are simple people. Salt of the earth...you know...morons.”

Or just liberal plants using FR to push an agenda. One or the other. Because there aren’t many other possibilities to explain their behavior.

Oh, I’ve answered your points in the past, but I don’t see any reason to rehash it all again. Some of the other posters on this thread did a good job of that.

You seem to think I like voting for RINOs. I don’t. Fortunately, I’m from a strong conservative state, so I don’t have to. I’m simply afraid my conservative senators are going to be in the minority again because of folks like you. No disrespect—it’s your vote, but if too many conservatives sit this out, we’re going to get Harry Reid again. Sorry, but no RINO is as bad as that.

I also don’t like the way some FReepers tear each other apart over this. Some of the name calling and just plain disrespect on this thread is uncalled for. We’re ideological allies here, but how in the world can we build political power when we can’t even be polite to each other?

Exactly.

Oh, and Romney has partnered with the American Unity Fund and Margaret Hoover.
Bad news all around.

Romney has also partnered with the American Unity Fund and found Margaret Hoover
And there is a partial explanation as to why he fought other Republicans light years harder than he fought Obama.
And he thinks the minimum wage should go up despite the damage that would do to business and the economy as well as JOBS.

You never answered my points because to answer them you’d have to admit your position is unsupportable.

No one drags you into a voting booth with a gun to your head. No one makes you post supportive excuses on the internet while holding a 16 tonne weight over a puppy. If you vote for a RINO, you support that RINO and the beliefs and policies of the RINO. There is no “Against” box near the Dem name. You just refuse to admit you will compromise your stated beliefs because you feel the fight is to much to bear.

If you opposed RINOism, you wouldn’t help put them in office. Period. Trying to claim otherwise is ridiculous. And no one genuinely opposing RINOs would make posts filled with excuses for them 2 years ahead of a presidential election.

BTW, implying that someone is a liberal plant is a vile, personal attack, especially on a conservative board. I don’t agree with you and think your approach ensures Democrat victory, but I would never, ever call you a liberal, a fool, or some of the other labels thrown about on this thread. Please try to be civil.

All I have to do is find ONE way that Romney is better and the logic of your argument falls apart. Do you think Romney would have thumbed his nose at our nearest and dearest allies? Do you think he would be tearing apart our military?

When you take a position that ensures conservatives are shut out and RINOs keep retaining power, don’t give me that be civil crap. Your actions destroy my country and negatively effect conservatives in it. You deserve a lot harsher language than being called what your actions show.
