Mayor Martin J. Walsh has launched an initiative this month targeting the city’s black and Latino boys and men, a population at risk for joblessness, poverty, and a host of health disparities, according to several studies.
Building on the lead of President Obama earlier this year, the mayor is introducing Boston’s version of “My Brother’s Keeper,’’ a network meant to bridge the gap between men of color and their potential achievements.
“There are a lot of young black and Latino men that we have here in our city that need this initiative,’’ Walsh said in an interview. “This can be helpful in changing their lives.”

The problem is in the WRONG kind of help.

What makes him think they will take the same initiative that’s been available for everyone else, when they continually keep rejecting it because they are bitter, and have some bone to hash with the rest of the world because of their bitterness?
Is this not an exercise in futility?...like all the other things this nation seems to be going along with?

You know....I have to agree with you as to how a humble, and God-grateful society would look like. However, a true ‘redneck’ isn’t someone from the South. It was someone who worked in the coal mines of W. Virginia, that wore a red bandana/handkerchief as a symbol of their intent to ‘unionize’. It’s called the “Battle of Blair Mountain”.
All paid for by taxes on Whites, of course.

The coincident monicker arose in two contexts, one being the miners who had unionized to demand safer and saner mining practices, and the other being the common southern agricultural workers whose necks would be burned red in the outdoor sun.

I haven’t been the source of anyone’s racial problems, and neither have “whites”. Some white people have been a problem, just as with any other racial group. Would you say that the Chinese and Koreans were treated better by the Japanese than the white’s treated them? How about the last 50 years of black-on-white crime statistics? Do you tell blacks that they are idiots if they don’t accept guilt by pigment association?
How about you stop defining me, and subscribing societal guilt to me, based on my skin color.

Well, you actually defined “yourself” with your comment. The one where you said....

Do you really believe that? Especially when we have a current leader who is doing nothing put stirring the shit, and making it stink even more than it already does in this world?
And well...I’m not interested in who treated the Chicoms, or the Koreans “better”, or by ‘who’. Nor do I dismiss any of the black-on-white crimes that you mention, either. Blacks don’t have the ‘pigment’ issues many whites do. Blacks know their black, AND have to endure being disparaged against, for it. A COLOR. One of which YOU think will keep you immune from awful things. Really?
Anyway, considering the standard that seems to still be alive and well among countless whites toward blacks, and even other darker-skinned ethnic groups, we could probably expect another 50 years of being hated by other cultures who are not as white as the paper many whites use to wipe their behinds....IF there were that much time left for the world.
