google search the article headline and then click the google link to the article. all paywalls have deliberate holes for google or otherwise they’d never get any traffic at all.

“one thing is still missing: content.

“The killer app for VR hasn’t been created yet,” “

In other words, yet another high tech “solution” in search of a “problem”.

Don’t worry. Once the sex apps become available, our muslim problem is solved. And our liberal basement dweller problem. And out politician problem.

Buy stock on cleaning supplies now and profit handsomly.

Only thing is, who will code the sheep simulator?

I am REALLY looking forward to some version of modded Skyrim on this system. RPG open world/sandbox games are gonna be something to experience.

But like I joked above, you are gonna see a whole upheaval in society on multiple levels when Nueromancer becomes part of everyday life.

I work in the CG Image business and we got to try one of these out at work.

I tried the roller coaster and a hang glider simulation. With the noise canceling headphones and the ability to look all around you, you are completely removed from reality.

On a conscious level I knew I was sitting in my office but if I looked up I could see the fluttering fabric of my glider and if I looked down, the Grand Canyon.

The sound of the wind and the peaceful beauty was so relaxing and disorienting because, while it was so real, I knew I was still sitting in my office.

Wierd, scary and totally the future.

See, they brings up a whole other issue. Propaganda will become far easier to push on people when it encompases their whole ‘world’.

Always a downside to awesome new tech and always people drooling at the possibilities for exploiting it.

I wonder what Obama does for a living in that world? I’ll bet he’s successful in that alternate world.

Well, as bad as it is to say, porn really drove technological innovation in computers in the 80's and 90's. But besides that and 3d games, this thing has applications. This is one of those thins, like drones, and 3D printing, that people will find a lot of good uses for, and it is cheap enough that some ground breaking apps will be written in basements.

Porn built the internet. Absolute truth. It drove the need for increased computer power and bandwidth.
