Like thunder, the news reverberated far and wide when Marvel Comics released it in July, the same week the Disney-owned comics publisher announced a black Captain America: Thor, formerly the brawny, bearded god of thunder, would now be a woman.
The change has left many thunderstruck since the new character was unveiled on "The View." "Thor is a chick," Tucker Carlson declared disapprovingly Sept. 21 on "Fox News Sunday."

The irony is that they are doing this to try to be pro-feminist, but the only way they are going to get any of the young males who are their traditional market to buy this is to have her running around in skimpy outfits and showing some skin.
I really, really love how all the detective and cop shows now have these totally hot slim babes who take out every 6’5” bad guy. I just look and laugh. What a joke.
Could it be that Thor is actually transgendered and that will be shown later? Is transgendered a verb?

What a stupid idea. They cannot create a new female superhero? BS they say it’s not PC because they are also making a black Captain America. Emasculating Thor to have a woman take over...my grandson will be very confused.

This is a STUPID idea.
That's one good thing I had to say about Southland when it was on -- on occasion, it showed female cops being overpowered and even beat up by perps. No PC nonsense about how women and men have equal strength and an equal ability to fight.
Seems like every detective on TV is a hot woman whom despite weighing only one-hundred-twenty pounds, takes down men over twice her size with one neat move.

Don’t bet on it. The only market left for comics nowadays are adult collectors, because children don’t buy them anymore. Any issue like this is probably going to be bought up just because the novelty of it may make it collectible.
I doubt the change will last long though.
Young males haven’t been the market for comic books for a couple decades at least.
Comics do stupid things like this all the time. Eventually, Thor will revert to being the original and Cap will go back to Steve Rogers. You can set your watch by it.
As long as she’s 6-foot-4-inches, strong as hell and mean as a snake, no problem.
Heh, well, it’s probably best to steer your grandson away from any of the “real” Norse goddesses.

I don’t follow the comics, tho’ an occasional superhero movie is fun, and I did sort of like Thor, when I was a kid. So, with my limited “background”, I don’t mind a black Capt. America — after all, he’s a relatively recent fictional creation anyway. But, a female Thor? That’s just ridiculous.
