All over the internet recently, sciFy vs. reality and a Mars satellite for petty cash:
That breaks the monopoly. Faced with the spectre of other nations publishing uncensored Mars images, NASA and JPL have started publishing some much more obvious images than they have in the past including a totally uncensored video (JPL) showing large-scale structure.
A few items...

W00t!
Next Monday will be a good day to start letting her out, as it was in the back of my mind, anyway. She is making enough progress that I can let her out for a while each day and increase the times until she is out all the time.
THEN, I need to get a carrier for her and let her get used to it. I looked at them at Walmart, but could see no price. Soft sided with mesh. The box she was brought home in was a traumatic experience for her and I won’t subject her to that again.
When she is let out, I want it to be under close to ideal conditions so she can adjust without too many external distractions. She deserves the best I have to give. Maybe she will relax enough for me to even take pictures!
The gold on her jaw is on the right side with a definite line between the brindle and the solid black!
You might find a carrier at a garage sale. Can you check the local newspaper and drive around a bit on a Saturday morning? Seems like you’d be perfect for garage-saling, since you get up so early.
Don't bother. It's sort of like reading Salon. All the lieberal tripe that's unfit to print...
Items from Salon are posted here sometimes, but I guess the Daily Kos is banned, since I never see it.
Did you resolve your chording issues from last night? We had a surprisingly successful choir this morning, given our lack of practice.
“Pobre Nino” was a hit. Here’s a recording, but we were better: guitar and bass, all-grandma choir (except me). This priest looks insane, but imagine playing the organ and singing with the camera pointed at your nose.

I don’t know how she would react to a carrier that had other cat smells on it. The “new” smell can be disguised by HER smell, but I think a used carrier will always have some part of it that smells of the previous animal. That may not be a good thing for her. I figure if I can get one for under $20, it will be a good investment.
I don’t know what a new carrier costs. We got one with Wednesday and bought our second at a garage sale. If you can get one for $2, just scrub it out with Lysol and rinse well.
I will check them out next weekend. Yard sales are in vogue...or maybe I can request one on Freecycle.com
In my experience, cats don’t care much about the box if it’s had a good scrub. They do like to look out!
I want to minimize any memories she has of confinement, so the more she can see while she is carried, the better she will be, over all.
We are now at least on the same page... ;-) (I know where she's capo-ing and which of the chords on the sheet she's playing. NOW I can get a leadsheet in the correct key.)
As I said, I could always transpose the keyboard, but I prefer to play in the correct key. Otherwise I get rusty at playing in those guitarist-dreaded 'flat' keys. You know you're getting rusty when your eye sees 'Ab' and your hand automatically plays 'A'... ;-)
I do wonder though why she's capoing a song in 'C' up one fret... but as long as we're on the same page, she can sing it ;-)
I don’t really have a good ear. This afternoon I asked DP for the note to start the closing song, and he played me a chord. “The note, the note!” I said ... and Elen gave me a “What’s your problem?” look and sang the note.
GAH. She has better pitch than I do, but she’s too self-conscious to sing.
This is the picture I tried to post from my iPad the other day. I put a show rack on the mantel while I was moving stuff around to paint. I made a shelf to replace the shoe rack because I thought something like the shoe rack only knick knackier would look nice on the mantel. But the wood I had was too narrow for this fireplace so I put it on the mantel in the living room. I put my Avon cars on and took pictures but haven't up loaded them to Photobucket yet. There is still some stuff left in them cars. I wonder if it still smells the same?
Shelf on the mantel, good idea. I have a shelf on the wall a few feet away.
Bell SongAhem.
I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day
The bells are ringing for me and my gal,
Their old familiar carols play,
The birds are singing for me and my gal.
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Everybody's been knowing
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
To a wedding they're going.
I thought how, as the day had come,
They're congregating for me and my gal,
The belfries of all Christendom.
The Parson's waiting for me and my gal.
Had rolled along the unbroken song,
I'm goin' to build a little home for two,
Of peace on earth, good will to men,
In Love-land for me and my gal.
And in despair I bowed my head:
See the relatives there looking over the pair!
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"They can tell at a glance it's a loving romance.
It's a wonderful sight as the families unite.
For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
The bells are ringing for me and my gal,
"God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The birds are singing for me and my gal.
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail,
With peace on earth, good will to men."
I'm goin' to build a little home for two,
Till, ringing singing, on its way,
The world revolved from night to day,
A voice, a chime, a chant sublime,
In Love-land for me and my gal.
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Might take a little practice.
LOL.
What key is that in?
C. All songs are in C unless someone has a good reason to assault nature.
The tempo will be a little tricky.
In case you’re wondering what I do when I’m out driving around; how I amuse myself and such.
Whistling or singing a song to myself, and then realizing that it has a similarity to another song.
It’s a rather intriguing concept.
D flat.
Nature deserved it.
