It’s official, Apple confirms October 16th special event: ‘It’s been way too long’

It’s official: Apple’s invitation to media outlets has confirmed they will be holding a special media event on Thursday, October 16, 2014.

No word, yet, on whether Apple will attempt a live streaming broadcast of the event. If so, hopefully, it’ll go better than their last attempt.

Rumors and speculation call for new iPads, including a svelte new A8-powered iPad Air with Touch ID, and new Macs, including the possibility of a new 27-inch iMac with Retina display and maybe even a new Mac mini.

Also expected is the public release of OS X Yosemite, so we all finally get some Continuity into our lives between our Macs and iPhones, iPad, and iPod touches.

And, as always, the possibility of “one more thing” looms.

MacDailyNews will offer live notes that day starting at 10am PDT/1pm EDT. Check our home page that day for the article link!

Not real surprising that a guy that posts a complete collection of my statements and totally skips the many points brought up ( that you STILL have yet to address and they aren’t going away), cannot see the sarcasm in “you missed a few” .

I think this is settled science. You are officially denser than lead.

I posted 3 quick examples from three sources. You totally blew them off. You think I’m going to waste time doing anything but mocking you?

Search engines are available for the other 4 people on Earth that are blind to Apple’s leftist activism.

Norm, there is not a specific point in ANY of your posts. Not one. What you post is rumor and inuendo.

Even your “3 quick examples from three sources” we’re not examples of Apple being a mover and shaker of Liberal activism in our culture. At best, they were examples of Apple Inc agreeing with an industry wide move to support the immigration of more trained engineers in their fields, a single press release in support of a US Supreme Court decision, and a link to Apple’s environmental statement page, which lays out what their company is doing to lessen their impact on the environment, which, no matter what your position on Global Warming/Climate Change has actually enhanced their bottom line by making their facilities completely energy independent from the grid, and, in fact become a profit center by selling energy back to the grid on off peak usage hours. They’ve made their products and packaging completely recycleable. Beyond that, they aren’t being rabidly radical about it. So what is your problem. . . I’m thinking about disconnecting my house from the grid, too. . . For purely economic, bottom line reasons.

You are the sole outlier on this thread. All objective data shows that Apple is not the hotbed of corporate leftism you claim. They are far more concerned with making excellent products that delight their customers and ultimately making a profit for their stockholders than pushing kookie causes.

Yes, there are liberals in its management but that’s true of almost any large organization. There are also moderates and conservatives. Some of the decisions they’ve made go along with the popular memes but even those have been criticized as being “lip service,” made purely for propaganda purposes, by the leftist organizations pushing them such as Greenpeace and Jesse Jackson, doing “just enough to seen doing something,” but are claimed by these critics to be really cynical, Capitalistic, moves purely made to enhance their “bottom line.”

You are perfectly welcome to dig a hole and pull your conservatively pure self into it and pull the sod over you. . . but I live in the real world.

You can tell when one side in a debate is bereft of facts. . . that side attacts the character of the opponent. You’ve just resorted to such ad hominem attack. . . for about the third time. I assure you, Norm, I am anything but “denser than lead.” The person on here who cannot see reason or accept facts when presented to you, with links from multiple posters and sources, is you. That is the quintessential definition of “denseness” in this context.

Can’t follow instructions either.

Again, Ping me when you address the points made on my posts. They are all there. Don’t type book length excuses.

Make an effort.

PS, you and I are all that remains posting on this thread. Aside from the people I emailed to laugh at your buffoonery. And I assure you, we are laughing. Hard.

PPS, The opposite of purity is corruption. Might wanna consider which side of that divide your purity comment puts you.

I am not under your direction, Norm. What makes you so arrogant to believe such a thing?

When you make any points at all worth responding to, I will be glad to respond to them. So far I have politely responded to those you have posted, responding when you have made specific addressable issues. . . and you have responded with insults. . . and have not provided anything tangible, just more inuendo and rumor. . . and your unsupported opinion. Typical of the troll. You have to provide more than that if you want to debate intelligently.

I don't need to secretly email my admirers to come see my handiwork on a thread. I've publicly pinged the people who've pointed out the shortcomings of your lack of facts on this thread. . . and I assure you Norm we are not alone here.

I could, should I choose, ping almost 600 of your fellow Freepers who would also find your belligerent and insulting attitude simply wrong, misguided, and offensive. I am certain they'd laugh much harder at your hamhanded and amateurish attempts at debate, especially in running up against me, who has handled far more experienced and erudite and informed debaters than you. I haven't bothered calling their attention to your piddling efforts. If I did so, I wouldn't do it secretly, I'd do it publicly. You are not worth the effort. They would far outnumber your little coterie of like minded idiots guffawing in your echo chamber.

As you see, I have ceased being polite. You sir, are an ass. I suspect those you've interacted with on this thread might agree. You are not worth my time. You need help.
