“Jerry Van Dyke’s mother is reincarnated in an antique automobile. “
And to think he could have been Gilligan.
Wait -the Julie Newmar one sounded like the greatest show ever....where do I find it?
A sight seeing tour of eclectic individuals gets stranded on an island where hijanks ensue each week.
Speaking of Julie Newmar, have you ever seen her episode of “The Twilight Zone”? She was never hotter, not even when she became a mom at 40 after a long time out of the public eye. I mean, what was I doing nine months earlier, I’m sure it wasn’t as interesting as, well...
Of course, I was one of those goofy kids who actually liked “My Mother the Car”.
>>>>A resigning secret agent is kidnapped and taken to a seaside resort and is chased by giant weather balloons.
HEY!!!! LOL!
Meanwhile what about Inside Herman’s Head?
H R PuffnStuff?
BananaSplits?
Alf?
Cleopatra 2525?
Brisco County, Jr?
And one I actually liked and still watch on DVD...
Jack of all Trades! Great opening - CHECK IT OUT! Only a minute long. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VNsjjYRgjc , HOT gal, and Bruce “The Chin” Campbell!
Brilliant! I think you win the Internet for tonight. Even as a boy, I could never understand why both Tony Nelson and John Steed seemed so oblivious to their companions.
Not weather balloons, “blacmanges”. They did manage to work in a couple of Beatles tunes into the series finale, so it wasn’t completely weird. Just mostly. Admittedly the weirdest thing on TV until “Twin Peaks” came on.

Good grief, man, what a list. How did you ever recall those cultural gems? Also, why did you leave out “Car 54, Where are you”?
Some unsuccessful series were even stranger.
I must have seen an episode of “It’s About Time” as the theme has haunted me unmercifully.

And, of course, Richard Benjamin’s Quark.
“Jerry Van Dyke’s mother is reincarnated in an antique automobile.”
I loved that show.
Your list of wacky tv show plots is great and it does demonstrate that Jane the Virgin is a lot more plausible than these beloved shows.
Oh, yeah, and Gilligan’s Island, that was pretty silly too!
