I can’t speak for other religions but the book of Genesis of the bible in chapter 6 talks about these beings the fallen one, that’s where the word Nephelim comes from, the fallen ones: the fallen angelic being who are demonic in nature.
You ever seen the early 1970s movie: Chariots of the gods (spelled with a little g , for the ancient peoples considered them as gods ).
The whole world is filled with evidence that they where here.

Completely agree. Alien to us could mean anything at all, including the possibility that we cannot even see them except when they (or God) choose to reveal themselves. God is infinite, infinitely good and can and will do what he chooses. Through Christ we have the privilege of witnessing that for eternity.
However, there is also nothing that says there aren't any, or that God couldn't have created other universes, or even other multiverses for that matter. And He could have populated them (and even this one)with with an infinite number of fallen or non-fallen races.
So the discovery of one isn't going to shake my faith even an little. I will just have to go back and adjust my thoughts about my faith to reality.
So many of us are operating at a very low frequency and are unable to see beyond ourselves and the limits we've placed upon our understanding, especially with regard to "religion" (a man-made creation) and its application.
Regarding Christianity and Christians, we have sliced and diced the Truth Jesus brought to us, and we then killed Him for, into three and then one of those into many.
These factions will fight to the death over details they each "know" are correct.
This reveals a consciousness operating at a very low frequency and not at all ready for a reality beyond the one we are fighting over.
We're stuck here at the lowest levels until we know and live our answer to "Who/Where is The Love?"
The Christian Bible has no concern about “aliens” or extraterestrial life as compared to man on earth. So, how this fellow came to the conclusion that the discovery of E.T. life would devastate Christianity is beyond me. The Christian Bible, in my opinion, concerns itself primarily with man on earth. Beyond earth, all I can think of is mention of heavenly beings and spiritual entities (someone set me straight if I’m wrong).
To me, the article smells more than just a bit of seeking an opportunity to belittle Christians as so unenlightened and fragile, that their faith can be destroyed by the (ahem) discovery of alien life... The booger-man... Sigh.
What’s next? Snarking on Christians who don’t believe in Bigfoot?
