Which ones would change parties. Which, if any, would we tell to stay Dem?

My candidate to switch is Manchinf West VA. He can’t stick with the Anti-Coal crowd.

“Manchin. He won’t have a chance next time.”

Agree. I’ve watched him in some TV interviews and he doesn’t appear (to me) to be a happy camper in the Democrat party. If the senate elections should have come out with an even 50 ~ 50 split I considered him a “ace in the hole” as flippable, for the right deal of course.

I’d rather see McConnell follow Harry’s lead and just change the rules on the filibuster. Simple majority vote for everything. Pile bills on Obama’s desk and put him on defense for 2 years.

No reason for switching.

GOP Senate control is likely for just two years. That’s the math. Too big a gamble for cautious politicians.

Politics ain't beanbag...

BTW..just heard that in a new spirit of bipartisan cooperation, Obama has reached out to GOP leadership, and invited Boehner and McConnell to play golf with him once a weeek. Reid will and Pelosi will caddy..

Something the last time this came up made me think that Manchin didn’t switch because the Republicans in the US Senate weren’t offering coherent opposition to Obama. Now, I’d think coal is back on the table and Manchin would be a better fit in the Republican Party.

“I didn’t think Virginia was still in play.”

Last I heard (it might change today I suppose) in VA if the vote is close enough a candidate can request a recount. I’m not sure how close it has to be, probably less than 1%.

I hope Gillespie fights to the end, that’s what the Ds always do (see: Al Gore 2000) and our guys need to start doing this too.

Gillepie’s a long time political op so I’d think he could round up people to handle a recount quite well. There might be enough challengable votes on the D side that could get tossed.

We’ll see.

Oh Oh I know. We can get Hillary Clinton to change parties and we will win big in 2016../sarcasm

Seriously Dem Liberals are best left where they are at rather than screwing up the works within the GOP. Instead the main focus should be on unseating them and ending their political careers not enabling new RINO's.

At this turning point in history——keep in mind that what the Capitol Hill crowd thinks is not half as important as what WE think.

One thing Pols do best, is count votes....and they know we got ‘em.

< As far as switching, the only one I can think of that might possible do that is Joe Manchin of WV.

Joe Manchin is a liar and a backstabber and a complete 0bamorrhoid. We can completely trust him to support socialism and tyranny at every turn. If he tries to become a Republican, he should be rejected.

More to the point, which RINO Senators can we tell to get the hell out of the Republican Party?
