Jeff is out of the Championship.

It’s:

Hamlin

Logano

Newman

Harvick

Whom ever Finishes higher up in Final Race Position will be the 2014 Cup Champion

Bizarre format — I am hoping that Jeff Gordon wins it and Newman comes in 2nd — that way Newman will win the championship without having won a single race all season — seems fitting.

Exactly! I'd love to see Harvick win it all, but I so want Newman to expose this fraud of a "playoff system" that NASCAR has forced on us. Ironic that the Chase began partly because of Kenseth's one win championship season.

I think he meant he hopes Gordon wins the race and Newman wins the Cup.

Well this version of the chase has finally made me realize there are better things to do than watch NASCAR. Looking forward to more time working on honey-do list. I say this as a long term fan of the sport. Empty seats and bad sportsmanship seems to be NASCAR’s goals. Enjoy the final race.

Hi Everybody, well we are down to the last Race of 2014. I plan on starting a NASCAR Off Season Mental Help and Well Being Withdrawal and Detox Thread to get Us through the winter.

It will be a place for any News/Gossip/Rumors/Etc as well as a place for anybody to find a (((hug))) or vent frustrations and have a shoulder to cry on;)

I can't hand out real drugs but will be posting pictures of any needed Antidepressant's or Nerve calming pills on an as needed basis.

I'll be back later to post the usual Race info.

Yes, that’s what I meant — plus having Jeff, Jr. & Jimmie Johnson (all very popular drivers) win a race after being eliminated in this format would just point out even more how messed up it is.
I do understand the reasoning behind what they tried to do with these elimination races & “resetting” points, but every possibly problem within the format has been magnified by how it all played out. It definitely needs tweaked.

Grandstands, premium seating sold out for Ford Ecoboost 400: Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer announced that the grandstands are sold out for the Ford EcoBoost 400 on Sunday, November 16 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In addition, premium seating areas in Champions Club, Speedway Club and the Pit Box are sold out as well.
"The response this year among our fans has been tremendous, both to the new Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup format as well as the opportunity to come to Miami and witness history," Becherer said. "The fans who will be here at our track not only will be treated to a terrific weekend of racing, but also an unforgettable overall experience with all of the entertainment and amenities that we have planned. For those who want to see some great racing, we encourage people to come out to the Camping World Truck Series race (Ford EcoBoost 200) on Friday night and the Nationwide race (Ford EcoBoost 300) on Saturday. Many of the drivers who will be competing in the Sprint Cup race on Sunday also will be taking part in the first two races over the weekend."
Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and Ryan Newman each will have a chance to claim the 2014 Sprint Cup Series championship at the Ford EcoBoost 400 as they will compete amongst a full field of 43 cars. Whichever driver among the Championship 4 finishes the highest on Sunday will be crowned the champion. Although the Ford EcoBoost 400 is now sold out, fans of some of the most popular drivers on the Sprint Cup Series circuit will have a chance to see those same drivers earlier in the weekend. Kyle Busch, Matt Kenseth, Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson are scheduled to take part in the Ford EcoBoost 300 on Saturday while Busch and Larson will compete in the Ford EcoBoost 200 on Friday. Fans will also have the opportunity see one of the top young drivers on the NASCAR circuit in the Ford EcoBoost 300 as Chase Elliott takes the wheel for the first time since clinching the Nationwide Series Championship following the race in Phoenix last weekend. At 18 years of age, Elliott is the youngest champion ever in any NASCAR series. Tickets remain available for the Ford EcoBoost 200 on Friday and the Ford EcoBoost 300 on Saturday. For more information on tickets, call 305-230-5255 or visit homesteadmiamispeedway.com.(HMS)(11-11-2014)

"Bonsai" predicts Hamlin as the champ: The season-ending Ford EcoBoost 400 race may be taking place this Sunday, but South Florida got a taste of Vegas when Zoo Miami's "Bonsai," a binturong, became the official Zoo Miami "Wildlife Prognosticator," picking the winner of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Choosing from the four cars of #4-Kevin Harvick, #11-Denny Hamlin, #22-Joey Logano and #31-Ryan Newman, Bonsai had a tough decision to make as to who he thought would take home the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. After thorough consideration, Bonsai picked the #11 car of Denny Hamlin to take home the Championship. Bonsai is a unique animal found in the tall forests of Asia that can reach a weight of close to 50 pounds. They are primarily arboreal and are excellent climbers feeding on a variety of small mammals, birds, insects and fruits. Commonly called a "bear cat," they have thick black fur and a long prehensile tail with sharp claws. They are active both day and night and give off a scent that smells very much like popcorn. Their biggest threat in the wild is habitat destruction due to deforestation.(South Dade News Leader)(11-12-2014)

Final NASCAR start for Marcos Ambrose: Marcos Ambrose will make his final start in the #9 Stanley Ford this weekend at the Homestead-Miami Speedway for Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM). Ambrose will depart the organization as one of its most successful drivers. Since joining RPM in 2011, he has put the #9 Sprint Cup team in Victory Lane twice while also earning three poles. In addition, Ambrose has 33 Top-10 and 11 Top-Five finishes. Ambrose will be most remembered as one of the best road course racers in the history of NASCAR. "It's been about nine years since my family and I came over the 'water' to try out this experiment of NASCAR. And, it's been great. We've won races, had good runs and met a lot of wonderful people. But, it's time to take my family back across the 'pond' and go home. I made that decision this year, and once we did that, we started working towards that plan. That's what this year has been like, and everyone has been very supportive. We are finishing our NASCAR season, and we just want to spoil the guys in 'The Chase'. I have had a good time here in NASCAR. It's the most competitive form of racing in the world, and there is nothing like it. It's a grind, and you need to be focused all the time on the task at hand. It will be nice to get some more weekends off and get back to V8. I will miss NASCAR, and I will watch it too. I will watch the night races in the morning in Australia with breakfast, and that will be fun. I'm looking forward to that. I have good runs, memorable races that I'll carry with me for sure. It was great winning for 'The King' and racing for wins at Watkins Glen. These are memories that I'll have for a lifetime. I would have liked to win on an oval, sure, but I feel like I've accomplished a lot too. Now, it's just time to go back home with my family."(RPM)(11-12-2014)

50-Year Limited Edition 2015 Ford Mustang to Pace Cup, Nationwide Races at Homestead: In a fitting tribute to the continuing golden anniversary celebration of the iconic pony car, a 50-Year Limited Edition 2015 Ford Mustang will pace the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series races during Ford Championship Weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Nov. 14-16. The Wimbledon White pace car, one of just 1,964 50-Year Limited Edition Mustangs built, will lead the field to the green flag for the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race Nov. 16 and the Ford EcoBoost 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race Nov. 15.
Mark Fields, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company, will drive the pace car equipped with 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine, leading the Sprint Cup field to green for the final time this season. John Felice, vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service will pace the starting field for the Nationwide race. A Race Red 2015 Mustang GT fastback will serve as the splitter pace car for the two races.
Built in Flat Rock, Mich., Mustang is all-new from the ground up. This sixth-generation, rear-wheel-drive car has the long hood and short rear deck lid proportions of its most iconic predecessors, as well as that low, wide stance, but its design is very much 21st century, with state-of-the-art engineering and technology. "Ford is very proud to have a 50-Year Limited Edition 2015 Mustang pace the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide races during Ford Championship Weekend," said Chantel Lenard, director, U.S. Marketing, Ford Motor Company. "To have Mustang -- a brand born of racing -- in this special anniversary year, leading some of the world's best drivers to the championship in two of NASCAR's premier series, is special. We know our fans will enjoy seeing it out on the track."
Among the many new features on the 2015 Mustang GT is an independent rear suspension engineered specifically for this new platform and car. It also features an all-new state-of-the-art front suspension. Mustang GT's 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine generates 435 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. Two other engines -- a 3.7-liter V6 and 2.3-liter EcoBoost® -- will also be available when the car hits showrooms later this year, part of the Mustang stable of engines which all boast over 300 horsepower.
A pair of all-new 2015 Ford F-150 pickup trucks will pace the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Nov. 15.(Ford Racing), see images of the pace car on the 2014 Pace Car page.(11-12-2014)
