They won’t be dead. But they will be different. They will have learned the lesson of the cable networks, that in a nation of this size a niche market can be huge. They try too hard for the mass appeal which often dumbs things down, they need to learn “this is our audience, let’s go get it”. You really only need to hook 3% of the populace to make serious money now, that’s 10 million people, plenty of companies will pay good cash to reach 10 million people.

If you still have large tvs in your home make sure you buy a digital a/v adapter for your tablet. That way you can mirror movies etc on your tv.

Buy “free” two-day shipping for an annual fee of $70 and get free movies thrown in to boot. We signed up on Day One and have renewed every year since.

It always struck me as a very odd couple of services to bundle, but it’s a heck of a bargain.

The only reason we keep the TV part of our cable bundle is live sports. My wife would die without that. Me — who cares?

Be sure to immediately buy a screen protector for your new tablet. I didn’t and my almost new iPad Air with Retina display has a nice scratch on the glass. It sparkles colors when watching old B&W movies. I just bought a Zagg Glass protector. Too bad the horse already escaped the barn.

Put the protector on immediately after opening the box.

MSNBC would already be out of business if they did not received the TARP money from the U.S. Tax Payers in 2008.

NBC’s parent company G.E. received it and bailed out MSNBC.

Their ratings are a joke. Even cities like Orlando, Florida, Austin, Texas have higher radio ratings per hour, that’s only limited to these medium size cities, than MSNBC has nation wide.

They are a joke, and would have already been out of business if they have not received the U.S. Tax payers bail(aka the TARP in 2008).

That's their only escape. It will be a slow metamorphose over the next 5 years.

I still like my DirecTV.

I like watching the science channel, history, HGTV and stuff like that... and NetFlix doesn't seem to have a whole lot of that sort of thing.

I agree with everything you said 100%.

Once the NFL and ESPN move over, then it's going to be a fast ride down for CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox.

The cable companies will just have to broadcast over data only.

Although the wireless companies are about to do that.

If you can get those channels on the Internet, then will you leave Direct TV?

I bet all the channels will eventually go to the Internet for a paid subcription.

People will have Alacart TV going forward.

They great news is that channels like, MTV, will probably collapse.
