My great grand aunt could not have done that at 40. And certainly could not have done that at 84 when she died. Some predictor.
Easy. We did this at basic a bunch when you gotta get up/down while carrying your rifle and/or chow. Just gotta lean forward a bit and use the momentum when getting up.
I couldn’t do this when I was a high schooler during wrestling season - and I was a sectional champion in wrestling.
Interesting, but immaterial, IMO.
I scored a negative 12. (I docked myself 3 points for having to call 911;)
I certainly hope you meant “one foot at a time”. Otherwise, that last pant leg could be awful tough. :)
last time i could do that i was...
14 years old...
i am now 56...
make your own conclusions..
That’s a hard one from a wheelchair or with two canes ...
My mother is 97 and could do this up until about 5 years ago. Definitely not now but still could get up using a knee or hand assist with no problem.
I am not in good shape like you, am not athletic or young but can do it easily with no effort. It’s got to have to do with differences in physique.
I couldn’t have stood up like that when I was 18... much less now. This is just a good way to do further damage to you knees....
Yes, 1/2 point.
Other 1/2 point bonuses are for smoking, eating and/or having sex while doing the exercise.
So, a maximum of 2 bonus points can be had.
I swim. I dance. I just got done wresting with a 1600-pound horse and carrying 80-pound bales of hay around. I can post on a horse for hours and jump him over coops and walls. This smells to me like the BMI measurement—it may generally apply to the broad population, but if you’re in shape, it gives a distorted picture of your condition.
I have asthma and some other issues so I could die at any time. Heck, I could come off a horse onto my head and die tomorrow. But you can’t go through life worried about your health or letting disease and pain fill you with fear. Live until you die. There are worse things than death, much worse. It will be an unspeakable joy to see my Christian family and my Savior.
Yeah, wish I could adopt that philosophy. I'm on enough anti-anxiety medication for a 1600-pound horse.
