For once, NO NEED to read the article...
TOPICS: Society; Sports
KEYWORDS: idiotmasters
...because the title says it all. However, I'd like to point my fellow FReepers to the COMMENTS section for the funny stuff, like one poster; "Congress will get it right." Followed immediately by; "...said no one ever." BWAHAHAHA!!! Enjoy :)

It is my understanding that their first act will be to provide crab legs to all eligible players.

I'm still not happy with the playoff system. I thought the bowls worked just fine.
I also believe there is too much money involved in college sports. What ever happened to the "student athlete?" They should do away with the charade that this is amateur sports.

Student athlete has never really been true with Div A college football. If you look at DII and DIII football you will find plenty of student athletes.
If they want to define college football as the minor leagues for the NFL that would be fine. But congress getting involved is just crazy.

In the end, college football will finalize an eight-team playoff, where the seeding is done with a BCS-style mixed computer poll/human poll ranking system regardless of who wins in the conference championship.

The function of government is to govern. ‘They’ will take what ‘we’ will relinquish.
