The Duggar Family Christmas Card Is Everything and More—See It Here!

The gang's all here!

The Duggar family gathered for their annual Christmas card shoot, and E! News got the exclusive on the final, glorious product.

The entire family is included—yup, that's right, all 19 kids—in the shoot as well as Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar.

Jill Duggar's baby bump was on full display in a white maxi dress as she posed alongside her husband, Derek Dillard.

Nestled up in the left corner is none other than Jessa Duggar and her hubby, Ben Seewald, who couldn't help but pose for the picture cheek to cheek.

The most recent birthday girl, little Josie Duggar, got a very special spot in the cheerful pic: front and center and on her dad's lap!

The words, "Happy Birthday Jesus" and "Merry Christmas from the Duggar Family" are written on the card as well as the following special Bible passage:

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a child is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulders: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6."

It's no secret that Christmas is a very special time in the Duggar household. Just last year, Michelle revealed her brood's annual tradition come December in a blog for TLC

"I think we do it a bit different in our family," she wrote, adding that she and Jim Bob like to explain "to the children who Santa Claus was historically" while focusing "on his good deeds and ministering to children."

She continued, "It's a huge celebration…we make it a really big deal. We decorate. It's a big birthday party for Jesus. We make banners and put them all around the house and put out our nativity scene."

They are going to be worn out grandparents.

I figure at least 100 grandkids at the minimum; wow!

unless the 19 kids each have 19 which is 361 grandkids!

Mr. Duggar might want to contemplate buying and renovating an old holiday inn or something, in a few years he’ll surely need it.

That is for certain but that is the best kind of living. Knowing you have earned your rest by serving God surrounded by those you love and those who love you.

The Duggars are a great, Godly family; love to see libs heads explode.

I signed the petition weeks ago.

It was fun watching the daughters get married recently.

I hear that Jim Bob is trying to set oldest daughter up with Tim Tebow.

You make an interesing point.
At 100 grandchildren, I’d need to have all the pics with names on my smartphone to keep the roster straight, LOL.

I totally agree. They are hated by the left because they put the lie to the whole soulless worldview endorsed by the left.

I don’t know...Having damned near 20 kids just seems odd to me.

Growing up, most catholic families had 6 or 8 kids with the occasional dozen, protestants and jews were in the 2 to 5 range. Seemed about right. A few brothers and sisters, a decent sized brood and a manageable family. I saw the older kids having to take care of their younger siblings because mom was pregnant or nursing, etc, etc. Created a fair amount of tension in those families.

Some are close, most are not.

Having been involved at my children’s conservative Catholic school, where families with 10+ children are commonplace, for 15 years, I can say my impressions are the exact opposite of yours.

We have only 8 (25 - 40). I tell others that was my retirement plan - 8 kids makes it easy on each one to take care of us.

One of them got wind of my saying that, and replied, “FAT CHANCE!”................and he’s a P.E. Civil Engineer, general contractor on the side........

Only 2 of the 8 are married, really slow - we have only 3 granddaughters........

Oh well. They are an incredible blessing and wife and I are close to each one of them, and they are each other’s best friends.......

But the Duggar’s? They’re crazy! ;-)

I came from a family of twelve. The only thing that was strange to me was the looks on peoples faces when we would peel out of our Suburban.

My mother subconsciously followed the same plan as our Founding mothers - first baby at 21, last baby at 43.

We were all relatively healthy and we are now taxpaying citizens.

The only thing that is really strange though is that until the Duggars came along the only time you heard about big families on TV were the welfare moms popping them out from different fathers and not married to one of them.

The Duggars have made big families respectable again.

If a person had 19 cats running around, most people would say that's probably a sign of some underlying pathology sort of like hoarding but with animals. We've all heard 'crazy cat lady' stories. So it begs the question, at what number of kids does it go from harmless family raising to some underlying pathology?

Having damned near 20 kids just seems odd to me.

“An Ode to an Early American”

Great-Granddad when the land was young
Barred his door with a wagon tongue,
The times were rough and the wilderness mocked
And he said his prayers with his shotgun cocked;
He was a citizen tough and grim,
Danger was like “duck soup” to him.
His great-grandson now falls asleep
And fears no harm from the darkness deep,
For great-granddad fought and won
And tamed the land for his great-grandson.

Great-Granddad was a busy man,
He cooked his grub in a frying pan,
He picked his teeth with a hunting knife,
And wore the same suit all his life.
He ate cornbread and bacon fat,
But great-grandson would starve on that.

Great-Granddad was gaunt with toil,
Grimed and seamed with the sun and soil,
But great-grandson is fat and clean
And rides to work in a limousine.
Twenty-five children came to bless
Great-Granddad’s home in the wilderness.
Laugh at the statement, if you can,
But Great-Granddad was a busy man.

Twenty-five children, and they grew
Stout and tall on the bacon, too;
Slept on the floor with the dogs and cats,
And shopped the woods for the coonskin hats.
Freud was a mystery, so was jazz,
Or giving their parents a scornful razz.
If they got fresh with Great-Granddad
He tanned their hides with a hickory gad.

He raised them rough but he raised them well,
And if they took hold of the ways of hell,
He filled them full of the fear of God
And flailed their pants with an old ramrod.
They grew strong of heart, and strong of hand,
The firm foundation of our land.
Twenty-five boys -——— but this great-grandson
To save his life can’t manage one!

It’s just odd because 20 kids is not the normal experience for most folks.

A dozen kids was not uncommon 40 years ago, but not the majority. 6 to 8 kids was pretty common and can recall a great many families of that size, and 4 to 5 was generally the norm. Two, as is normal now was a rarity.

I don’t ever recall a family larger than 12 maybe 13 in my experiences. I’m not saying it’s bad, just perculiar.

I came from a family of six and my older sisters were expected to help out. A subject I have never heard the end of... as I am at the fish hook position. There is a certain “begrudging” for lack of a better term, from the olders missing activities to tend to the younger as mom was busy with the youngest (me). I never hear the end of it...how they missed X because they had to stay with the other kids because one of the others had something to do and the whole brood couldn’t go, etc. Every (without fail) gathering something gets mentioned...some sanctimonious BS that I simply had no control over and simply don’t want to hear anymore so I have stopped going to these picnics/dinners/graduations/weddings etc.

“begrudging”

I don't remember feeling that way and I was the oldest. I do remember holding the baby as my mom was giving the younger kids their baths. And telling my brother that is was his turn to watch the little one.

But I never missed out on an event because I had to watch the kids. Maybe that was just different styles of raising kids.

My mom and dad loved having kids, even when it was difficult.
