Yes, I knew that from the time of his mayoral candidacy in 2013. The presumption here is that he changed his name for purely political reasons - much better to run in NYC with an Italian name than with a German name - since he had planned a career in leftist NYC electoral politics from a very young age.
Also knew about his trip to Nicaragua in support of the Sandanistas during the Reagan years. But the honeymoon in Cuba is news to me. Color his biography RED.

All I know is, I knew him for what he was...a can of crap best left unopened. I told and told my fellow teachers that he was NOT the savior they sought in reaction to the reign of terror imposed on us by Bloomberg, but they listened to his siren call-—and got royally screwed. He installed a schools chancellor who is a poster girl for Alzheimers and who lacks the wit or the will to effect any effective school reforms. He rammed through a disastrous teacher contract. And the fun has only begun, with Cuomo chiming in to further destroy teaching as a career in NYC.
I didn’t vote for him or his trashy family. I wouldn’t be that upset if he stepped into a manhole and finally met some of those alligators. He is an economy sized imbecile.
