Remember the old Christmas commercials?

The one that just popped into my head was the old Folger's commercial where college age Peter comes home and makes morning coffee for the family. That commercial made a come back Christmas after Christmas for years years.

Here's the commercial (low quality video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4kNl7cQdcU

Here's the actor who plays Peter and how he looks more recently: http://gregwrangler.com/index.html

Here's an interview with him about that commercial from 2008: http://www.brandlandusa.com/2008/12/18/folgers-peter-tells-of-classic-xmas-commercial/

That one used to have backing vocals to the tune of jingle Bells:

“Floating Heads, Floating Heads”

Even as a child, my mind conjured up a vision of decapitated heads floating down a river!

Awful, I know...but I remember it distinctly! LOLOLOLOL!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

That television commercial is iconic when it comes to Christmas...pretty much everyone is vaguely familiar with that advertisement.

I’ve been trying to find a commercial that I only saw a couple of times a few years ago. It featured an older woman, on the porch of a log or post-and-beam house, waiting for the family to come for the Holidays. She had grey hair braided an interesting way, and I think it was a snowy scene.

At first I thought it was Folger’s, but I don’t think so. Does anyone remember it? I think it was very obscure, and didn’t run much...(May have been a Thanksgiving, not a Christmas, ad.)

My TV commercial memories are of the Santa sleigh-riding on the shaver; and I like the polar-bear Coca Cola commericals.

Here's a thread from a few days ago about a 1966 Christmas "bumper" from CBS (link included). I was three in 1966, but I remember this one.

Remember when CBS had Christmas Bumpers Like This?

I don’t remember the commercial you’re describing, unfortunately. But I am a sucker for those polar bears.

I don’t think I know the commercial you’re looking for, but I know someone here at FR probably does!

I once asked - it took several times - for help finding a movie from the 1970s. All I could offer was the most bare bones description. I didn’t know the title, the actors, or the director. All I knew was part of the plot and one scene. After about three tries someone here came up with the title. Blew me away.

Post a vanity thread asking for help. You might have to do it more than once, but someone here probably knows the commercial you’re looking for.

Heres one. A mcdonalds gift certificate commercial that starred a young corey feldman. It made its debut in 1975, but aired again in following years.

This one isn't old, but those Budweiser Christmas commercials from the 1980s were iconic:

Even the Anheuser-Busch jingle sticks in my mind as a classic Christmas carol.
