Egypt Bans 'Zionist' Film Exodus And Cites 'Historical Inaccuracies' A day after Morocco bans film, Egypt says it’s rife with mistakes, including an apparent claim that ‘Moses and the Jews built the pyramids’ Exodus: Gods and Kings review – holy Moses, wholly acceptable for the devout

26 December 2014 Egypt has banned the Hollywood biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings, citing historical inaccuracies, the culture minister said on Friday. The decision comes a day after a similar move by Morocco.

The film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Christian Bale, relates how Moses helped Israelite slaves flee persecution in Egypt under the Pharaoh Ramses by parting the Red Sea to let them cross safely. The Egyptian culture minister, Gaber Asfour, said the film was rife with mistakes, including an apparent claim that “Moses and the Jews built the pyramids”.

“This totally contradicts proven historical facts,” Asfour said.

Anti-Christian Hollywood makes make-believe movies turning Bible characters into Marvel Comics heroes/anti-heroes. But they’re supposed to be “historically” accurate in the Muslim point of view. Oh and in the black/African-American point-of-view. What ever. Cross-national groupthink is now supposed to please absolutely every heretic or the SHTF. Civilizational paralysis is on the horizon. Maybe it’s an oncoming train.

From the trailer and reviews I wouldn’t be upset if they banned it here. Ban Jon Stewart too please.

I think saying this movie is inaccurate is something Muslims, Jews and Christian can all agree on.

We all would be better off re-reading Exodus ourselves.

I agree. Would that be a bad thing, if we could all agree on something? Just once.

What’s ironic is that it is a movie based on the Bible.

We all know it’s horseshit. Listen to me.

The one thing....that we all get.....is that the movie “Exodus” is horseshit....think about that.

Hardly necessary. It’s going to tank.

Like “Noah”, and any number of other failed and forgotten efforts before it, this is a simple lesson that Hollyweird seems to have trouble understanding:

Non-Christians won’t see your movie because: Biblical

Christians won’t see your movie because: not Biblical

In the present case, that only leaves serious Ridley Scott fans, and they are no longer large enough in number to even cover the cost of the lobby posters.

This is such a far cry from the Cecil B. DeMille production, which was filmed in Egypt, with the blessings of the government, and actually starred the real Egyptian Calvary as the Army of Pharaoh.

I’m not saying that the “Ten Commandments” was Scripturally Perfect, but it was done with a lot more respect to the Book of Exodus than this current silliness. :-)

The entire idea of “rationalizing” the story of Exodus is, well, stupid. The heart of Exodus is the plagues. To rationalize the story one would have to believe that some clown got hit on the head, saw hallucinations, and then inexplicably a bunch of plagues fortuitously happened after the clown threatened the king. Ridiculous, even for a movie.
