“Never get in a fight with an old guy...if he can’t beat you he will just kill you...”
An oldie but a goodie.
Saw this months ago.
Yeah, he/I probably can’t beat you in a sustained fight,
so I’ll have to kill you as quickly as I can.
Happens all the time-kids get so confident in their youth. They have no idea that old people can still be strong. I married into a family full of big, strong athletic men. At Christmas a brother in law shared a funny football practice story that ended with a shocked kid saying, “You’re really fast for a fat guy!”
Witnessed a similar occurrence during my first Navy deployment. Boxing smoker, with only one officer (a classmate, and white) in the event. Cocky, black opponent egged on by his buddies & many of the other attendees. Only problem, classmate was a Golden Gloves champ. He knocked out the smart ass in the 1st round.
Another vertical video. Why do they do that?
No, never challenge those old guys. We have an 80 year old boxer where I live, teaches Golden Gloves, still works, and he does 100 push-ups every day! Blows my mind!
Yeah, and if we’re talking the same Carlos Zarate I remember, we’re not just any old man.
I've played 'old guy' basketball for years. The CYO at our church challenged us to a game as a fundraiser. We killed them. But we had 10 guys, and substituted 5 at a time every 3 minutes. The kids had legs but couldn't handle the skill and experience.
What a great way to start the day! If only the cocky punk had been Amish...
Read my #6.
“Youth and speed can always be defeated by experience and treachery”
Anyone *not* see the video of Buzz Aldrin decking that punk who got in his face about the moon landing being a hoax?
I teach Jujitsu in Phoenix. I love it when some cocky junior black belt challenges me when I’m at a seminar. I get a “special” thrill of saying “you just got whopped by your grandfather” to the yut after I quickly put him on his rear end.
When I was a teen backin the early/mid 70s, I use to play basketball at the local Y with the old guys. Ages ranges fro mid-20’s to 50’s/60’s. Learned a lot.
This wasn’t the fight that later proved a setup?
“Yeah, and if were talking the same Carlos Zarate I remember, were not just any old man.”
I remember watching him fight, he’s got an incredible knock out record. He ran a string of 55 wins with 54 knockouts.
I went to a junior high skoo where there was one 'ancient' (probably in his forties) teacher who had what appeared to be quite a bit of a gut......each year he'd get down on the track with the runners, who were wearing their cleats.
He never loosened his necktie, nor took off his suit coat or street shoes....and he always kicked ass in the hundred yard dash - It's still an amazing memory.
Buzz could take hoax accusations in stride. The punk started with personal insults, calling Buzz "liar", "crook", "thief", and the the fists came out.
