Big Mac for $2. A sign of the times? (vanity)
Jan 9th 2015 | self

Is this a sign of deflation and recession?
I was at the McDonalds and got a breakfast sandwich. With my receipt they give me a slickly put together 4" x 4" paper that says Big Mac and Quarter Pounder for $2 from January 12th to January 28th. Is Mickey Dee's clearing out stale hamburger inventory? Are they trying to drum up business? They always seem to hold the line on their two top selling hamburgers at $3.99. Now they are going for half price. For a limited time only of course

I read that catering to black and gays almost exclusively has really hurt their bottom line, maybe they are trying to drum up more business.

When did they start calling Biscuits “Breakfast Sandwiches”?

Just curious.

I’ve never pulled up to a drive-thru and asked for a “Ham & Egg Breakfast Sandwich”. lol (not that I’d order anything from McDonald’s for breakfast anyway)

The last time I ordered something from McDonald’s for breakfast, I ordered a “Steak and Egg Biscuit”(they read it back to me as a “breakfast sandwich” lol)

I ended up getting something that looked like what came off the grill the night before when they scraped it to clean it off, with what looked like COULD have been an egg on top. I threw it out the window. In the rear view mirror, I believe I saw a dog walk up and piss on it....

They raised their prices too high and lost business to their competition.

They have the opposite problem. They fought to keep prices down by lowering the quality of their food.

I remember those too. They opened one in Ft.Walton not too far from here and 15 cents was cheap even in the early 60s. The surprising thing to me is they were really good as were the fries.

I tried them again maybe 5 years ago and could hardly get the cheeseburger down. I know my taste hasn’t changed that much.

BTW, I misspelled both fries (fires) and tried (tired) and the spell checker of course did not catch either one. I just happened to notice.

5G is $5.50 here. Good stuff, and as rarely as we do ff, it’s worth it. All you can eat peanuts too.

The rest of the country is in a cold wave and isn’t interested in anything that California has to say right now.

Thanks

Burger King is good but if you really want some meat in that burger nothing beats Hardees.

There’s only one problem with In-N-Out.
None east of Texas, which is sad, it’s a great outfit.

I haven’t been to BK in a while but got a burger a few months ago, i finally realized that the flame broiled taste is NOT from a flame but actually some sort of chemical flavoring, like liquid smoke.
YUCK

Their fries are worse than ever and i actually used to like their nuggets, were nice and spicy, now NASTY.

Like a lot of industries, the MBAs are wreaking havoc with the product in favor of cost reduction.

Doesn’t matter, as a Quarter Pounder now has less meat inside than a Krystal.
