This Texas police officer is accustomed to making traffic stops, but he’s never been through one like this one.

Galveston Police Officer Gregory Parris arranged for other officers to pull over his girlfriend, Sara Wolff, so that he could propose to her in an elaborate ruse caught on dashboard camera.

Thanks. It was pretty fun. When she realized who it was, she punched him.

Oh, bye the way for all the self righteous posters, he was off duty.

“Are we commenting on marriage or the police-state here?”

That’s redundant

Your fiance is willing to misuse police powers for entertainment.

You're kidding, right?

He stopped his girl friend. She apparently didn't complain about the stop.

When I was in college I made a car commercial for an advertising class. The tagine was that the car was fast...maybe too fast and the video showed me in the car being pulled over. It was arranged with a cop I knew. Should I now go to jail?

The whopping 5 minutes of patrol time must have cost a bundle.

Hollywood filming doesn’t apply, silly.

And the municipality might have the right to have something to say, even in court, about how it is the stewardship, not the amount of time, that matters.

It’s the old “consensual adults” question. Do you want to go down that road... really?

I had a real problem with the idea of cops pulling over random people to give Christmas presents. The right to detain me isn’t a power given lightly nor should it be used that way.

This is different. This isn’t the police state abusing their discretion. It’s her boyfriend presumably soon to be fiancé. If she objects, she can take it up with him, not ‘the system “.

I personally wouldn’t play on the emotions of my hopeful fiancé like that, but whatever. (Although I would darn sure pull over a kid with a new permit...)
