The Wachowski siblings Jupiter Ascending is not The Matrix, according to the majority of critics panning the science fiction spectacle starring Channing Tatum as an intergalactic bounty hunter and Mila Kunis as the oblivious heir to the universe.
The Warner Bros. release has 31 percent rotten approval rating from 49 critics counted, so far, by Rotten Tomatoes. Unfortunately, even the 15 reviews the critic aggregator considers fresh arent very positive.

Xanadu level bad?
Even the previews / trailer looks bad.
Worse than MY favorite movie, ‘Water World?’ ;)
How could they have messed up a potentially good movie so bad??? The Hollywood loons throw away so much money ——
Hollywood studios. Hollywood is not about creativity, only about formulas.
*wrenching shudder*
Suppose there might be some drugs or pillow talk explanation?
The reviews refer to the Wachowski brothers as “siblings” because one of them got Bruce Jennered.
I’m convinced The Matrix really was written by that lady that sued them. It’s the only one that is really any good, storywise.
I still have my Xanadu soundtrack album. Very bad movie. Suprisingly good soundtrack. Olivia Newton-John and ELO. Newton-John had a beautiful voice but often sang bad material. Jeff Lynne is a great songwriter. Somehow the soundtrack works.
Matrix I was somewhat entertaining in a “this is your brain on drugs” kind of way. Matrix II was crap. Matrix III was worse than crap.
The Wachowski brothers were mediocre hacks at best and that was before one of the Wachowski brothers decided to become a Wachowski sister.
Whoever it was in the movie studio that authorized them to spend $200,000,000 making another movie should be fired and made to repay the shareholders.
I’ve never figured out how the Wachowskis got such a reputation. Their movies look good, I’ll give them that, but they’re STUPID.
Just riding the wave on the popular space opera/disaster movies.
“I’ma gonna skate so fast I enter that painting!”
Water World was actually not that bad of a movie.
I saw it a few times and have enjoyed it.
But whatever Hollywood used to have, it no longer has.
They just seem to produce a steady stream of garbage, which is surprising considering that they have the special effects technology to create anything that they want, any place, any thing, any time.
Yet they cannot create anything worthwhile or of value, most especially a good story and compelling characters.
She could sing.
But that movie was painful.
There used to be a website dedicated to bad movies.
“badmovies.org”, they haven’t updated in forever.
LOL
And the song..the SONG.
heir to the universe??
what??
