I'll see your Xanadu...and raise you a Barbarella... But Barbarella was Jane Fonda's greatest role! She was at the pinnacle of her career as an actress. It was all downhill after that.

Ah yes, “Water World”: “The Road Warrior” in a pool. Let’s not forget Kevin Costners other piece of post-apocalyptic dreck, “The Postman”.

There’s a really, really big ewwwwww factor here....I’d really recommend against it. There’s a reason why it isn’t heralded as one of Uma’s works....

I’ve never heard of that movie Devil but it sounds scary. Probably not for me, I’ll watch from under the blanket!
Another movie I really liked a lot was Slumdog Millionaire. I thought it was such a clever idea that the fellow would know the quiz show answers because of his life experiences. It really lived up to my expectations and, despite some very bad things that happened, I thought it was a good hearted movie, not one saying: life is dreadful, you’re oppressed, blah blah, boo hiss.
If I want to hear cr*p like that I can listen to the golfer-in-chief.

Not to mention...
That was before Jane committed treason and thigh-straddled the VC howitzer, right?

Never forget that on the fashion show that Joan Rivers did on the Oscars, Mila Kunis came out in a see-through dress and Rivers said
"You can see her Kunis!"

Sci-Fi is what it is.....I've been enamored with it my entire life beginning when I was purchasing the first run comics of all the super heroes back in the 50's and early 60's. and buying all the cheap paperbacks offered in the comics and other sources.
There is no such thing as "bad" sci-fi" just as there's no such thing as bad sex........

Because in the end the studios dont care if the movies are good or bad, they want them profitable. This is what boggles my mind.
The production budget for Jupiter Rising was reportedly $176 million. That is before distribution and marketing costs. After you add in all the post production costs, the break even point was almost certainly more than $250 million, probably much more.
There is no way that this move could have ever broken even. Only a massive hit could make money with a break even cost that high and there are very few massive hits. You would be better off investing the $250 million playing slot machines in Las Vegas.

I just read a synopsis of the plot.
The writer must have been on acid, that’s all I can say...

It was what they call “a troubled production”. That makes for cost over runs.

I thought so. I’m not a huge sci-fi fan...I like some of it, but that one I could not figure out. And I really couldn’t get past Connery’s getup.

It was really sick. We didn’t last very long until we left. I wonder if she even includes it in her list of movies.
