Jesse Jackson threatens lawsuit in Little League World Series scandal

Rev. Jesse Jackson, the polarizing civil rights activist, is calling for Little League International to return the U.S. championship to the 12-year-olds from Jackie Robinson West, mere hours after Little League stripped the team of its title.

And if that doesn't happen, Jackson said Wednesday afternoon, he may take legal action.

Jackie Robinson West — consumed in a vortex of allegations involving ineligible players and illegally redrawing its league boundaries — became a feel-good story in Chicago and across the country on its run to the Little League World Series. An all-black team that was supported by MLB players, Jackie Robinson West became U.S. champions before losing to South Korea in the international title game. Afterward, the kids from Chicago were celebrated from the World Series to the White House.

"the kids from Chicago were celebrated from the World Series to the White House"

If Obama touches it, it goes down in chaos and argument. That's his legacy.

I doubt anyone is going to be busting down doors to grab trophies or certificates, and of course, the kids have already experienced their victory and celebrations. And even if they ran for political office at some point, I doubt anyone’s going to waggle fingers at players claiming that they were part of the champion team.

So really, this is about punishing the cheaters - the coach, the team title, and putting others on notice that if you cheat by taking in players who are outside your boundaries, you're likely going to face punishment.

Of course, it's mildly entertaining that you need to provide a full birth certificate when you sign up for a team, something that not even the president has to do...

As for Jackson, please make sure that you shake down more people so you can pay both your legal fees and the league's fees, as they're going to win, and you're going to be paying.

Kanye West should be the judge and Kim be the jury.

I actually feel bad for the kids but it happens to the best of them. How they choose to deal with it is where the real value lies.

Jackie Robinson West, the 2014 U.S. Little League World Series champions, have vacated their wins and been stripped of their title thanks to the use of ineligible players.

I wish little league by-laws as applied to our JV little leauguer in chief.

You really must read the article to get the good stuff like this one:

“The children in Las Vegas and their coach should not want to accept the championship they did not earn,” Jackson says. #JRW

The irony totally escapes him.

I’ve followed LLB/LLWS since I was 10. Ironically that was the year the Filipino team forfeited for playing with a bunch of high schoolers.

I’m at a loss as to how Jesse Jackson suffered damages in the LLWS scandal.

He may have been the sperm donor for several of those illegal players.

Play the game then make the rules. Sounds like SOP for the Rev.

Jesse (the ‘Spitter’) Jackson believes blacks should be allowed to cheat...they deserve to win, no matter what.

“”JJs biological father is Noah Robinson (MO’s uncle). Lying and cheating are a way of life. (cousin Noah JR is serving life — family-lack of values)””

Is that true? I see his real father was an older married man named Robinson in SC and his mother was a teenage neighbor of Robinson - his mother later married Jackson and Jesse was adopted by him.. Wouldn’t this be common knowledge - flaunted by Jesse Jackson if it was true - ESPECIALLY now that Sharpton seems to have replaced him as the “go to” person of color?? Pretty interesting. Who’s keeping it quiet - Jackson or obozo?

Brian Williams hand carved their bats from a Big tree hit by lightning in a Chicago housing project brown-field full of broken glass, which was where the kids played while dodging gunfire and flash bang grenades.
