The mother of Trayvon Martin says she's disappointed that federal prosecutors decided not to charge a neighborhood watch volunteer with a hate crime for killing her son three years ago.
Speaking with The Associated Press on Wednesday before the third anniversary of her 17-year-old son's death, Sybrina Fulton says she still believes George Zimmerman got away with murder.

That’s okay. I’m disappointed that Trayvon’s mother raised a parasitic thug who needed killing. The unprovoked physical assault by her son is what justified the shooting.

Actually, Trayvon got away with assault. By dying, he was able to avoid being charged.
One of the big things that's usually overlooked in this case (but needs to be repeated every time it comes up) is that, per Rachel Jeantel's statements, Trayvon thought Zimmerman was gay, launched a gay-bashing attack on Zimmerman and should have been charged with a hate crime had he survived. Where he would have possibly tried the same "gay panic" defense used by the murderers of Mathew Shepard.
