It's a well known trick to hold a fish closer to the camera to make it look bigger...

I love catfish but I wonder if one that big tastes the same.

It might have been large enough to swallow an Italian man.

I would have to see this from a different angle as it looks as if the photo was manipulated to make the fish look much bigger than it is. I’ve learned lots of tricks to fool the camera.

I’ve seen a few fish brought out of Tenkiller lake in Oklahoma that were about the same weight and no where near that apparent size. It took three men to hold one up years ago and it was not near as tall as the men holding it.

A real fish of this reported size(280 lb) would not even fill a 55 gallon drum.

The size of the mouth is grossly exaggerated due to nearness to the camera and the camera lens itself.

A 280 lb catfish is still a big fish.

Photoshopped. And a fish that size would weigh closer to 1000 lbs, not 280.

Yeah that think could at the very least have little difficulty swallowing a small child whole. In many lakes and rivers the largest catfish are for sure considered a legitimate danger when children are swimming; when catfish are active there are reports of kids going underwater and never rising back up.

If that is real it would weigh a lot more than 280 lbs.
