Border guard officers in Poland say they detained a French man for trying to enter the country with his Russian wife hiding in his suitcase. Jen Markham (@jenmarkham) has the story.
What a weird stunt.

Actually I have a great story about this. Decades ago I was still taking any court appointment I could get and I was appointed to represent two children of a woman who had allegedly been killed by her husband, the children’s step father. I got a call from the man’s lawyer who was laughing so hard he could hardly tell the story. Evidently the man was driving his car out of town when he was stopped for having expired tags. They ran his tags/name and discovered that there was a warrant out for over $50 in unpaid traffic tickets. They told him that although usually they would just give him a ticket on the expired tags they had to have him go to the police station to pay either the bond or the parking tickets. So he drives over to the police station, parks outside the motor pool, goes inside and pays it all off. He comes out and his car won’t start. The cops in the motor pool here him grinding the starter and come out to offer a jump start. He gets really agitated and refuses and keeps grinding. They offer again. He tells them to F off and that he’ll hire a tow truck. By then, the cops are suspicious and realizing that this vehicle has the battery in the trunk, open it to find. TADA His wife’s body. This was during the year when there were those annoying “baby on board” signs which were quickly replaced with “dead mother in law in truck” signs.
It was a cunning stunt.
