A Vallejo police spokesman says an officer shot and killed a man who was later found to have a note in his truck apologizing to the police for making them do it.
Lt. Sid DeJesus said the confrontation started in a shopping center parking lot just before 6 p.m. on Saturday when someone called 911 to report an agitated man holding a large knife next to a pickup truck.

I’ve heard of suicide by cop but this is the first time I’ve heard of a note.

“Police find...” yeah, there will be some who lack reading comprehension skills and leap to a conclusion...it’s the way of FR...get used to it already.
Go read the inane comments from the haters...and, yes, they are haters. They want to send cops to jail when they make errors in judgment, they want them dead for shooting a stupid dog that is about to attack, they want them sued for wrongful arrest. But, will they step up and take a bullet for the rest of us? Oh, no. They are little small-minded, smug, self-righteous, cop-hating maroons. Go form your own country of renegade antinomianists. And, they probably don’t even know what that means. So, no thanks, I don’t care to get used to it; I’ll stick a stick in their eyes every chance I get.
I got jumped by three dogs during the last Census. It was touch and go for a minute, but I didn't do anything rash, and I didn't need to shoot them because "they were about to attack", which they were.
Perhaps you Bluebellies need to learn a new expression:

Meaning you can let it go every once in a while, instead of turning EVERYTHING into a CONFRONTATION.
