Dear Oregon Freepers--it's been my misfortune to have a particularly obnoxious, arrogant, condescending liberal from Portland become part of a cherished social circle. I have heard so much about "how we do it in Portland" that I started doing research about this area of the country, its politics, and finally its cruelty to the religious.
Don’t move to Corvallis, either.

Or, as I like to call it, Ashlandia. My friend attended SOU shortly after retiring from the Navy. If you like Shakespeare, go to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland. Paul Allen donated $40 mil. to build the Elizabethan theater there. Good food and excellent craft beer though.
Might want to think about living in Vancouver Washington. The state of Washington doesn't have an income tax and Oregon (right across the Columbia river) has no sales tax.
We are thinking about moving. Unfortunately, the leftists are getting along very well in the state of Washington.
Western Oregon and Western Washington are about equel when it comes to leftists.
