Looking over past threads and several articles I about the stock market I was wondering if anyone has any definite information on when the next stock market crash would come and how bad will it be?
As Herbert Stein once said, "If something cannot go on forever, it will stop."
Some time in the next decade, somewhere in the world, a nuclear bomb is going to be detonated by a group not affiliated with any major government.
Within 24 hours, power players everywhere will realize: "That could have been me!" And the economic landscape will change - instantly and dramatically.
But until that time, the casino will remain open.
Short selling was banned. A real sign....

Short selling isn’t banned.
Don’t know, but something spooked the oil industry last week in our area, gas prices went up 12 cents in one day.
Short selling was banned during the tulip bubble.

Had me worried for a moment.;-)
It will crash when the global elites want more money...or are simply bored.

Nobody knows when, how much, or how long the stock market will “crash”: that’s anybody’s guess. If a “crash” means permanent destruction, then we have much bigger problems.
That does seem to be so. Third element....when enough new companies emerge that they want to possess at bargain basement prices. Kinda' like what just happening with new drilling and energy endeavors.

My wife has been bugging me to put a bunch of money in the market which is just sitting in cash. The crash will happen as soon as I do that.
If I knew that then I'd know when to sell short, make my fortune, and retire before I'm 40.
It all depends on whether the machines take over.
“So what if the market crashes. If you don’t sell, you don’t lock in your losses and so long as you invested in solid companies, you can ride them back up.”
Yeah we had a lot of our kids’ college money in the most solid stock there was: General Motors.
Hopefully soon. Not many bargains out there lately. My monthly allotment doesn’t get as many shares it used too. A 10000 point fall would be nice.
I’m increasingly under the impression that a full blown market crash can’t happen.
