My wife and had dinner and great discussion last night with another like minded couple...you know, the type of discussions that keep your sanity intact...catharsis type...the type likely Russians were banned from having. Anyway, we discussed how since the chief propagandist 'Ebola case's was put in place Ebola has vanished. Recall that this person's resume was a cornucopia of Chicago style message control and campaigning...the real no-name Ebola czar doctor was retired and vanished.
still averaging about 40 new cases every day
- Somewhere, someplace somebody is out to get you.
- When I walk around at work, I’m paranoid. I think everybody is out to get me. When I sit at a poker table I’m normal. I know everybody is out to get me.
the panic came from an oct 24th report that sent the average new case per day to 400. this was an exponential increase from previous reports and extremely troubling (just extend the curve to see where it would head)
they’ve recently looked into the statistical information and found the information to be correct... but the reporting came as a bunch instead of weekly. this resulted in months of data being reported in a blast alongside the other weekly data, causing the extreme jump.
Said about a million loyal Germans who happened to be Jewish...
They naïvely thought that if only they would STOP BEING PARANOID, the National Socialists would stop being out to get them!
Playing the Nazi card. Nice. Boy, this thread is about one poorly sourced article link away from looneytown. Why don’t you just quote “First they came” and REALLY torpedo clarity with fear.
Ebola is my business.
There is no Ebola in the US currently, and very little in a West Africa. The events of December 2013-December 2014 are interesting, and important to understand for the future, but it’s basically over.
He also criticized President Obamas decision to send some 3,000 military members to West Africa. You also have to be concerned about 3,000 soldiers getting back on a ship. Where is disease most transmittable? When youre in a very close confines on a ship, we all know about cruises and how they get these diarrhea viruses that are transmitted very easily, he said. Can you imagine if a whole ship full of our soldiers catch Ebola?
The panic came because some people like to panic, and the press LOVES to panic it’s good for ratings.
On the average, Ebola kills in about 12 days. The number of people being infected daily is about 40. This number (40) has been about the same since February 1, 2015.
After 12 days, you are either dead or on your way to recovery. One way or the other, you are not suffering an active infection after about 12 days (on the average), so the pool of actively infected people is about 12 x 40 = 480.
Ebola is becoming endemic. It is NOT disappearing. It is simmering on the back burner. It refuses to go away. If containment efforts are interrupted, it could easily flare up and grow geometrically to huge numbers in a very short time. (days/weeks)
The proper approach is to quarantine. It has worked historically. It must be done again or this thing will never go away.
Well, there’s not much ebola in Africa now. And we are being made fun of as a result.
And really not any ebola in the US. Why do I think you’d disagree.
I don’t have it. :-)
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak for me.
