Churches in America: Prepare to Be Treated Like 1st Century Christians in Rome
The Christian Post ^ | 4/24/2015 | WALLACE HENLEY

The United States Supreme Court may soon liberate the biblically conservative church from old "prejudices" that should have long ago been "jettisoned," forcing it into "rightly bowing to the enlightenments of modernity," in the words of a recent writer in The New York Times.

Homosexuality must be removed from the "sin list" and, according to an MSNBC commentator, traditional marriage proponents must be forced "to do things they don't want to do." Sadly, this crusade will be like the Marxist "liberation" movements that promised to "free" people, but really were about control and suppression.

The culmination may come as the Supreme Court hears oral arguments on same-sex marriage cases beginning April 28. By July 1 the Court possibly will issue an official ruling regarding the constitutional right to homosexual marriage. The Court's decision may impact the form of biblically based churches dramatically. Churches that hold to a strict and conservative interpretation of the Bible's teaching about gender and marriage may find themselves "Romanized"...

andt the lamestream media, the homosexual mafia, the “justice” system and every other agency of government controlled by America’s now-leftist political establishment (and that includes the establishment “GOP” that exists only for self survival) - become the LIONS

Catholics and Protestants sniping at each other endlessly isn’t helping any of us.

Churches need to become unregistered and unincorporated. Just a bunch of people who worship together once or twice a week, everything else should be done separately from the church itself.

As Christians, we should expect this kind of treatment and instead of endlessly complaining about it, we ought to use it as an opportunity to minister the Gospel.

That said, I do understand that we should also stand up and be counted as far as our rights as citizens are concerned. We also need to stand up for those who are being actively persecuted and even losing their lives for the faith.

This is about priorities and ministry. Jesus had much to say about this particular subject. Some of it does not get the reaction from Christians that I would expect it to.

I fear that this could happen very quickly, and our elected officials would be powerless to prevent it. This would take years to unwind, even if it could be done.

This may very well be a sifting process, so that the “true” churches can be separated and made more visible from the social churches. But it will be very painful, and many churches will fall away.

I pray this does not happen.

I plan on wearing a cross in support of Christianity.

As a kid, raised in a fundamental home, I attended church more than most do in an entire lifetime. I don’t go to church now and I am a nominal Christian at best. However, I want to take a public stand by proudly wearing a cross. I have never worn one in my life, but I think it’s something more people should do at this point in history.

Guessing what the current SCOTUS will do is much like playing the lottery.

With a presidential election firing up, it is likely that they will save any dramatic rulings for after the election is over.

It wasn’t the lions, but Constantine’s armies, centuries later, that most decimated the Lord’s work.

That is exactly what the Lord commanded us to do in the Revelation. “Come out of her!”

The present churches are the whore and her daughters, and are full of corruption.

Thought you’d get a kick out of this.

If the members of the church want to do something besides worship the lord, set up a separate organization or several.

If the leftists wish to treat Christians as the Romans did then they won’t mind if we treat leftists the way the Romans treated the Carthaginians.

No way we’ll be thrown to the lions. Why? It’s called the AR-15, a.k.a. “America’s Rifle.” I’m not afraid of these libtard pukes. No self-respecting man is.

The states are already outlawing unapproved meetings in residential houses. Bible studies have been targeted the last few years...

I completely disagree. There are good churches out there...unless you follow the false prophet Harold Campion

Truth divides. 10,000 tyrants 1 mile are bad. But so is 1 tyrant 10,000 miles away (Rome). God is our father, not some poseur in Rome.

Did you mean Harold Camping? (he’s dead)

All of the churches mix truth with falsehood.

We are called out of All of the churches, not just some of them.

The believers are mostly not a part of the churches today. They come together in various ways in small impromptu meetings. The “Mystery of Iniquity” has not trapped them.

They do not all agree completely, but they all recognize that blanket of rejection of God’s commandments that characterizes the organized corporate churches.

Revelation 3:3 is the warning for the ‘churches.’

Yeshua’s assembly are not a church; they are a mystic, invisible body. Some of them may well be in your church, but they have no characteristic marking to identify them (yet).
