The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.

No matter what, you won’t be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isn’t asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table(recipes)preserving, good living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!

NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.

I just wish my mouth would take some of these foods.

It feels like I've brushed my gums with a wire brush. LOL!

Gotta heal up.

The extra strawberries either go the Church fresh or she makes a puree and freezes it and makes jam later…

Does anyone have experience in growing dipping tobacco?

My son uses Copenhagen, a lot of it.

Would like to try to furnish it for him.

No experience here. We are all non - smokers, and we don’t chew either.

I thought JRandomfreeper might have. Have not talked with him for a while. Hope he is doing better.

No, I don’t use tobacco either. But my 38 year old son does. So that is why I was asking.

Thanks.

Johnny, do you know anything about varieties of tobacco that can be used to make dipping tobacco?

My son uses a huge amount of it. Thought i might try to grow some for him.

Hope you are doing better. God bless you and your family.

I am still here. Tomorrow is a big day for me, all prayers are appreciated for Friday. Big day.

Personally, I don't have any information on dipping tobacco, since I use mine mainly for smoking, but I do have some instructions for dipping tobacco that I can get to you if I find it.

It may take a little while. I've moved stuff around so that I don't forget where I put it... so, of course, I forgot it. ;)

Give me a little time, and I should be able to come up with it. Can't be too hard, mountain men were making it over 100 years ago.
