Don’t tell me the foot cat is one you kick. Would love to see a pic of your kitties on your home page. I’ll see if I can figure out how to put something up on mine, haven’t touched it in quite awhile. I used a book for counting calories and also used labels. After awhile I remembered the numbers and just had to write them down. I ate a lot of the same measured stuff when I am trying to lose.

Nah.. Cay is the cat that sleeps at the foot of the bed. Whether I'm there are not.

I'm not sure that with a book I would actually be counting calories.

Right now, I swipe with the bar-code reader, it fills out automatically, or semi-automatically the UPC of whatever and automatically totals everything up. I can make some changes to serving size and I do. I don't do pencil-paper math any more. ;)

I make a lot of my own recipes and create my own upc code to go in the spreadsheet for those.

Good thing I don't have to read it. It's not just for calories. It's my memory if I or anyone needs the information. BORING....LOL!

I used to do that kind of stuff for other people to feed my kidz. Not the same subject matter, obviously. Just anything to manage, this was the tool I generally made and used.

I may as well use those skills for me.

Only, this time, I'm not charging a king's ransom for a management tool.

I had to dig some volunteer potatoes from last falls crop to prepare this bed for corn and ended up with this mess of Yukon Gold taters. Added some fresh compost and I'll spade it this week ~

Wow! I'd be eating some 'taters. But that's just me.

Don't you just love volunteers?

I had 4 or 5 with my dinner. Just boiled in their skins and salt, pepper and butter. GOOD EATS ~

I HAVE TOMATOES. I HAVE TOMATOES..

It,s 12:30am, Monday, and I think my tomatoes have probably drowned. This is a gullywasher for sure.

Yikes, I just looked at the radar. This gullywasher stretches from Del Rio to up in Oklahoma. It looks like it hasn’t quite reached you yet. Stay dry.

Wasn’t too bad, a lot of wind and only .51 but that adds up to 3.21 in the last 4 days and 5.27 for the month. Very nice compared to past years.

I just saw that info on YouTube. Queen Victoria loved pies made with that pear because they kept so well during the winter.

I'll see if I can find it...

Really nice potatoes. I always have a few volunteers but never that many. Is the grate to keep pests out? Nice raised bed. Ours is on a slight curve lengthwise so we never enclosed it.

Finally found it. Had to listen a bunch of times because they mumble.... And I'm somewhat deef.

It was the black worcester pear. It is/was also known by the name "Warden" pear.

Wiki has a good write up on it, but I don't quote wiki here on FR, per the boss.

It's a cooking pear. I don't know about eating out of hand, but I almost never do that with pears.

Let me know if that helps.

I don’t think there is any risk confusing Morels with something else is there?

Not if you pay attention to what you're picking. Verpa and Gyromitra are somewhat similar visually, but different enough that there's really no reason to mistake them for morels.

Mrs. Augie and I found these and a bunch more just like em yesterday.

I don’t think those are morels. Especially if the tops are attached up inside rather then down around the base they for sure are not.

Let us know about your tomatoes. I still haven't decided whether I'm going to grow any this year.

I just finished cooking 18 servings of my home-made mac and cheese. About 250 calories per serving. I guess that is for lunch today. ;)

That's a lot like work, especially the calories per recipe. Lots of tracking and math going on.
