Mini Cooper Stolen Before Landing Down Yerba Buena Island Cliff: SF Fire
NBC Bay Area ^ | 5/7

Posted on 05/07/2015 3:10:07 PM PDT by nickcarraway

An empty car that was reported stolen out of Berkeley was found on the rocks below a cliff at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Island on Tuesday, according to a fire department spokeswoman.

A citizen reported white Mini Cooper with a black roof at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday near the lighthouse on the southeast tip of the island, San Francisco fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said. When crews got there, they found the ca was empty.

Talmadge said a car thief might have been responsible for abandoning the car.

What a convoluted headline!

Today’s “journalists” have no grasp of simple grammar.

Drive from San Diego down to Ensenada, Mexico. You’ll see every known make of car on the beach.

Bad headline. In fairness, the headlines are often written by the editors.

I thought this happened in Cali, not Boston? :)

Pretty much every part of this story makes one question the capability of the writer.

My piling-on:

“[A] car that was reported stolen . . . . a car thief might have been responsible. . . . “

(I’ve skipped over the “empty car that was reported stolen” inanity.)

Was Democrat Eleanor Holmes Norton visiting California?

It's not the cliffs the scare me, it's all those Crosses on the corners
that cannot stop cars.

Yes, that's loose shale.
