Ah, but the Germans actually put the three functions on one lever accessible by the firer’s thumb without removing the hand from the grip - like the M-16/M4, FN-FAL, and pretty darn near every other modern firearm..

I actually met the Director of Izhmash in Paris years ago and he never had an explanation for why nobody in all of Russia couldn’t design a better safety/selector setup for the AK family. Lucky for us, I guess.

Classic Arms has had Chinese ones for $300. That's about as cheap as they get.

SKS's are out of stock on Classic's website. They have Mosin 9/30's listed at $190 so I'll leave what the SKS's will probably cost when they come back in stock to your imagination.
