Walker Hints at Running Mate
Fox News | 5/28/2015 | conservativejoy

I just heard Walker on Neal Cavuto's program hint that he might consider a Walker/Rubio ticket.

What do Freepers think of this?

Thank you! You stated my concerns about Walker exactly.

If Cruz were to pick Walker I would be disappointed in his choice, but I would vote for him in the same way I voted for Palin, not McCain.

Or Secretary of Commerce, to fully engage Trumps ideas for businesses and manufacturing.

It would help him in the General election. The scuttlebutt is that the Dems are afraid of Rubio because they see him as pulling substantial Hispanic vote, and he's not a bomb thrower like Cruz.

I actually prefer bomb throwers. We need all of our people to be throwing them instead of just a brave few.

Not a Rubio fan (amnesty backflip) but once again, it sounds to me like Walker is thinking this thing through, and being quite shrewd.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have a Justice Dept. again? The thought that Hillary would finally be prosecuted is so appealing.

I read this as “weak prick.” I’m not sure my mind deceived me...

Which Rubio?

Rubio the first-term senator or Rubio the fish taco restaurant chain owner?

I think we just got confirmation of where Walker really stands on immigration. Anyone else getting that drift?

I think that is a flawed way to interpret it. We all don't like Rubio's position on illegal Immigration, and many of us suspect Walker's not being totally honest with us about *HIS* position on illegal immigration, but I think he's looking at electoral votes, and not policy positions.

Walker wins. He does this by throwing his weight behind things for which he can get the votes. I don't like Rubio, but I can't deny he would be a net plus on Walker's ticket. He would soothe the moderates.

Florida is a must win. Rubio would cinch it for him, and he can turn his remaining money and forces to other "Must Win" states, like Ohio or Pennsylvania.

I agree that Walker is shrewd. His entire administration has been all about him. His legislature does the hard work, then he schedules signing ceremonies for his photo ops and never gives them any credit.

So, first Walker is for amnesty. Then he’s against it. And then he hints at making one of the Gang of Eight his running mate.

How do you know Walker is lying?

His lips are moving.

Much of politics is perception. Image control and being conscious of the need for it spells "smart" in my book. Let's face it, at the basic level, modern politics in America is nothing more than a popularity contest.

Rubio is giving up his Senate seat in order to run. IMO, he has been pretty much given a wink and a nod from the GOPe on being on the ticket.

I like Cary Fiorina as well. She is an impressive speaker and has the experience working with other nations to be an asset as VP.

I like what I’m hearing from Carly. Barring something unforeseen, I would be O.K. with her as VP.
