NEW YORK, - A Saudi real estate magnate is reportedly under contract to purchase the second-most expensive condo in New York City, for the price of $95 million.
The towering unit, located at 432 Park Ave. in Midtown Manhattan -- the tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere -- was placed under contract in 2013 but has yet to close, various news media reported.
The buyer is said to be Fawaz Al Hokair, a Saudi real-estate magnate worth a reported $1.37 billion. Developers Macklowe Properties and CIM Group, as they do with all other buyers, declined to confirm Hokair's presence on the contract.
The condo, which sold for $95 million, comes with nearly 8,300 square feet, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and quite the view. At 1,396 feet -- just 380 feet shorter than the new One World Trade Center -- 432 Park Avenue boasts Manhattan's highest rooftop.
Other perks include a wood-burning fireplace, 10-foot-by-10-foot windows and heated bathroom floors, New York Business Journal reported.
There are two other penthouses for sale in the tower, one priced at $81 million and the other at $75.6 million.
Designed by architect Rafael Viñoly, it is the tallest residential building in the world and the third tallest free-standing building in the United States.
The developers say views on the upper half of the building include just about all of New York City.
"Take in the entire city below, from the Hudson to the East River, from the Bronx to Brooklyn, from Central Park to the Atlantic Ocean," the tower's website says.
Hokair is the founder of the Fawaz Alhokair Group, which also sells Western retail brands in the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.........

The views are spectacular, but I wouldn’t want to live in something like this, you can’t even open up the windows. No place for a grill either. Not worth it, IMO.
He’s worth $1.37 billion and the US isn’t doing enough to stem international terrorism by eradicating poverty in the Muddled East. Right.
For 95 mill you’d think you could get a shower with that bathtub.

The interior has all the warmth of an office building. And six bedrooms, seven bathrooms? Do the owners have gastric issues?

My 46th Street office is just ten blocks away from this tower and as it was being built, I'd frequently take lunchtime walks by it on my way to Central Park. Simply magnificent building and they are building several more high rise residential towers in the general vicinity. One that I have my eye on is the one about to go up on 111 W. 57th Street. They are working on the foundation of that one now and it will shoot up to around 1,775 feet (just one foot shy of the new Freedom Tower). Will be fun to see that one go up and I'll plan my daily walk around that.
Having had a chance to work in NYC for a while, I have to finally agree that it is the greatest city in the world. It's one of the few places left on earth where capitalism, hard work and success is still celebrated.
A lot of space to slip and crack one’s head though.
I have never wanted to live up off the ground. We have a huge yard, huge trees, plants, flowers and 4 dogs. Our yard has squirrels, rabbits and birds of every description, all that right in the middle of Houston. I am not leaving this spot until I am called home by Jesus!
I wonder who had that listing and what the commission was! Whew! What a payday.
Living out my final years in a city apartment, with access to all that the city offers, and with all the outside stuff like gardening and snow removal taken care of appeals to me more and more. I can always go to Central Park if I want to see squirrels.
