If we don’t start paying attention to the ongoing investigations in Wisconsin and Walker becomes the nominee, expect federal indictments to be forthcoming. The Dems would like nothing better than to have us run someone in that situation. Hillary will skate like she always does.

Since the title is about a secret email system, I assume that this is trying to excuse Hillaries crimes based on Walker’s time as a county executive. County executive and Secretary of State are almost exactly the same, right?

This is like saying the Clinton failed to disclose donations and may have broke finance laws and tax laws but Scott Walker sold an iPhone on eBay and failed to report it or pay state sales tax.

But, that still ignores the laws for handling classified information related to the security of millions of Americans.

What classified materials laws did Scott Walker possibly break as a county executive?

Thats just plain dumb.

A lot of people think he should have been, but the prosecutor is a Walker supporter, so that may give him some cover. Don’t expect that to help if the feds get involved.

So what is your opinion of the WEDC investigation that turned up 19 million dollars in payouts to Walker supporters?

You mean the story you posted from prwatch.org which is run by the liberal "Center for Media and Democracy". After I asked you for a reputable link you never gave me one. Did I miss it? If so, post it again.

The resulting convictions are not “smoke”.

Yes, they are. The assistant who had a separate router for working on a Lt. Gov. campaign (who was not Walker) in her own office during her lunch breaks should have gotten a fine, and that's it. It wasn't Walker's router or his campaign or his e-mail. If they COULD have tied him to this, they would have.

It's a penny ante charge. Those of us who live and/or work in Wisconsin and can get Vicki McKenna on one of her stations throughout the state get a true conservative voice who dealt with this thoroughly. She doesn't always go easy on Walker, chastising him over not getting on Common Core early. But she went through this whole thing in excruciating detail, and there was nothing there. The people of Wisconsin agreed.

For the record, I am supporting Sen. Cruz for the presidency, but Scott Walker is a great man, who doesn't deserve having people who have a different first choice spread deceitful smears.

Walker knew that employees were conducting his campaign business on state time. The secret router was just feet from his desk.

The biggest problem for Walker right now is the WEDC scandal. He created the agency and chaired it until this week when the state legislators removed him from that position. I’m sure that has to do with the 19 million taxpayer dollars he doled out to his supporters.

However, if you want to say these laws are so hard to follow that we should just ignore people who do violate them, then you are equivocating and excusing criminal behavior.

Do you know how silly these convictions are?

There was a low level secretarial type staffer who -during work hours - posted a comment on a news story using a pseudonym on the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel website. The Urinal-Slantinel violated their own privacy policy and gave up this poor woman to the Milwaukee DA to help him attempt to build a larger case against Walker.

Should she have been using county property and work time to post on a public website? No.

But, this woman lost her job and had her professional career and personal finances ruined as a result of her minor indiscretion.

As Milwaukee County Executive, Walker requested the initial investigation because his staff suspected malfeasances with a veterans' benefit fund that had devolved into county control. That low level aide did steal from the fund. That should have been the end of the investigation.

Instead, it was discovered that his live-in boyfriend possessed child porn and had engaged in child solicitation. The DA had this pervert dead to rights, but delayed charging him in a bogus attempt to build a case against Walker.

Next came the above-mentioned prosecution of the newspaper website poster. By this time Walker had been elected Governor, so the unwarranted investigation moved to Madison. From there, the DA moved to find violations of campaign laws - where he found one lone instance of a violation by a minor Walker who held a second job running a minor (and losing) campaign of a politician not in Walker's camp.

After years of finding mainly nothing (and that is the reality of the convictions loudly cited by conservativejoy in this thread), the DA moved on to attempting to criminalize political free speech. The DA has been repeatedly slapped down by supervising judges, his subpoenas have been quashed, he has been ordered to cease his investigation because there is no probable cause or crime and he has now been sued for violating the constitutional rights of his latest targets.

In the meantime, the DA has refused to disclose how much this "investigation" has cost taxpayers. Yes, a crime has been committed. The Milwaukee DA has stolen millions - perhaps hundreds of millions - from Wisconsin taxpayers.

How's that for equivocation!!!!

You are either stupid or lying. The DA's office, specifically David Robles, went on a fishing expedition resulting in some of the convictions. That DA, John Chisholm, is not a Walker supporter. Even a simple wikipedia search could tell you that.

Do you have a reputable link for that? Seriously. The only link I have seen on that was from PRWatch.org which is a completely partisan liberal organization. You need to put up a link.

Wisconsin.... Crap, I can't believe I got that wrong. Maybe I am that dense. It's all the Great White North to a simple Texan. :)

***

Well, that explains it. I lived in Austin 1990-91. I would tell Texans that I was originally from Milwaukee and they would respond with "So, how did y'all like Minnesota?"

At first, I tried to correct them. That usually drew a response of "Well, if it's north of the Red River, it's not really important!"

Texas - it's like a whole another country!

I am a Cruz supporter. But I wouldn’t do something like this to trash him.

For me, Cruz and Walker are the only ones worth support and we shall separate the wheat from the chaff as we get into debates and campaigns that are more mature. At this point, I’d rather these two go about their campaigns to advance themselves, not see each other sucker punched.

I am far, far more interested in keeping that Mexican Yeb Bush from getting the nomination.

Yankee?

That was the other pejorative Texans tried to tag me with. Again, I'm from Wisconsin. I believe the term you meant to use was "cheesehead."

If you're from North of the Red River, Yankee is appropriate. If you're as above and living south of the Red River, you're a damned Yankee. For the record, Yankee isn't a pejorative. My wife is from Connecticut. If I called you a commie (sometimes synonymous with yankee), then you've been insulted.

Do you have a link to a specific article on talkingpointsmemo.com? There is no search box. Also this "Joshua Micah Marshall is an American Polk Award-winning journalist and liberal blogger who founded Talking Points Memo,..." comes up when I google Talking Points Memo.

Do you have a specific link or preferably a more reliable source?
