I have serious concerns about the methodology, available at the source. It assumes an even distribution of firearms per capita and multiplies that times each state'd population. I strongly question the assumption of even distribution of firearms between a state whose laws against ownership are oppressive and one whose laws are not.

Data was taken from “Small Arms Survey 2007: Guns and the City.” ..the United States (which it estimates has about 270 million guns).

Then it says this: “We then took the estimate of 88.8 guns per 100 people for the U.S.—which, seven years later, is likely higher”

Ha!! Is likely higher?!?! After Obama got into office, I think the number of guns about doubled.

The chart shows the state of Oregon as possessing an equal number of firearms as England and Wales.

The authors must not be aware of the fact that the citizens of those countries were disarmed by their government some years ago.

Either that, or gun grabbing is worse in that Commie state than I ever imagined.

I don't think it's an apples-to-apples comparison. The German gun owner probably has access to double-barrel shotguns and lever-actions, stored in a government armory. The civilian populace of Texas probably outranks the German army in small arms.
