The man who said he was served a deep fried piece of rat instead of chicken at a California KFC is being called a liar by the company, following a DNA test of the meat.
“Recently, a customer questioned the quality of a KFC product, and this received considerable publicity given the sensational nature of his claim,” the KFC Rodrigo Coronel told FoxNews.com.

Your confusion is understandable between “rat” and “’Rat” ... besides, both are a form of “chicken”.
Having a dad who was born and raised in Kentucky we occasionally had squirrel on the menu. And I’d have to assume that as a rodent, rat has a similar taste. Squirrel, at least, is not one of those things that “taste’s like chicken”. Giving the fellow the benefit of the doubt, the back of a chicken, mostly bone and normally not on KFC’s menu, has a shape that if it was fried on its own could be mistaken for a small rodent.
I think the vast majority of these types of claims are BS and nothing more than a scammer looking for a quick "shut up and go away" payoff from the company they're targeting. Investigations often show these folks have made similar claims in the past.
I hope KFC sues this guy into bankruptcy.
My wife says the same thing. She is particularly put off by the actors “creepy” laugh.
Hardly surprising; I first heard the Kentucky Fried Rat urban legend back in the 1970s.
They had a guy the kept on suing Kellogs. He was a cereal complainer.
Growing up in Upstate NY we hunted and cooked squirrels all the time. Almost to extinction. You’re right doesn’t taste like chicken.

Hey! If that chicken says it was a rat and thought it was a rat, how can we say differently?? The Chicken was definitely a trans-rat.
Two things....
First, the KFC fried rat incident is one of
those urban legends. I’ve heard it all over
California for many years and maybe somebody is
trying to score $$ off of it.
Second, the creepy guy portraying Harlan Sanders
reminds me of Darryl (sp?) Hammond of SNL.
Whomever it is, it seems like an insult to the
late icon of KFC and I don’t like it either.
