This is exactly why, when conservatives sit on the sideline awaiting the 100% pure candidate, we damage ourselves. Election have consequences and this is one - the ability to select Supreme Court Justices who will sit for life. Look at the ages of Obama's picks - 55 and 61. They are not going anywhere for years.
Abortion, gay marriage, assaults upon Christianity... and we dare to sing God Bless America. Why would he bless us when we spit in his eye.

I figure there’s no point. There is no privacy anyway. Besides, it takes one argument away from liberals about saying what I say anonymously. And I can prove I’ve been saying these things for as long or longer than FR has been around.
Freepers need to be more open-minded about the realities of our pathetic voter demographics here and SLOWLY work back to a conservative country because it can’t happen overnight with all the brainwashed minds we have now.

I think it won’t be long before we will have to chose to stand up for our principles or let the country go. Stand up, as in how the founding fathers did - risking all.
Yes. Conservatives as a group could not even unite around a single candidate to go against Romney. They split the vote across three of them. I realize “uniting around a candidate” is not easy in the real world of politics. But until conservatives — as a group — can somehow unify around candidates and gain power then these defeats will continue.
We are not looking for the “perfect” candidate, we are looking for one that is actually a conservative. Not a leftist pretending to be one.

Conservatives do unify around a candidate. The one with the most conservatism worth unifying around. But when there are none that can hit 80%, then you get the Romney fiasco.
And then you have to consider most ‘conservatives’ are nothing of the sort and here solely to guarantee unification behind a liberal GOP offering.
